Sadie Rose 09-155

Profile

Introducing Sadie Rose our newest RAGOM girl!  She and her sister (Bella 09-154) arrived at their new foster homes late last night.  I had the pleasure of transporting both of them and they were just the sweetest dogs.  They were so quiet, I didn't even know they were in the van.  Sadie and Bella were taken in by a wonderful family when their previous owners didn't want them.  The family already had several other pets and while they loved Sadie and Bella, they thought that it would be best for them to have their own "furever" homes, so they surrendered them to RAGOM.

I'm just getting to know Sadie Rose and she is quiet, shy, and somewhat submissive but she is warming up to everyone.  So far, she likes her fur butt foster sister Sophie, who is another RAGOM girl (Cowgirl), because Sophie is quiet too.  I also have Liam 08-590 visiting this weekend and Sadie Rose doesn't quite know what to make of him yet.  She thinks she would like to play with him but isn't sure.  Must be his whiskers!  She was living outdoors so I don't know if she is housetrained but thus far we haven't had any accidents.  She walks wonderfully on the leash - almost walks at a heel without being commanded.  If you stop walking, she immediately returns to your side if she has been off investigating something and sits. She doesn't jump up on you.  If you sit down, she will immediately come up and sit to be petted.  She fell in love with my son and he really likes her too.  She kenneled up last night and slept all night without a peep until our friend, Liam decided to wake everyone up at 5:30 this morning.  (I call him "BratBoy.")  I tried to include a couple photos of her but they don't really do her justice.  She is a beautiful reddish golden color.  I will keep trying to get a good photo but good buddy Liam always wants to get in the way!

Sadie will need to be spayed before she is ready for her furever home but I'm sure she won't be waiting long.  If you are interested, please contact your placement advisor or check out our "adoption" link on the left of the website.  If you have not completed an application, you can do so online.  Keep watching for updates - I'm sure Sadie will want to tell you her story soon!

Updates

We just heard from Sadie's new family and she is having a great time and fitting right in!

We just wanted to touch base and let you know that Sadie is right at home here and at Grandma's.  She also LOVES water!  She and her new sister, Kaycee, took turns climbing in and out of Grandma's tub that her dogs get their feet washed in.  Of course, we had to keep adding water to the tub!

From Sadie:   My new cousins are Hailey Jo and Abby Gail.  Abby is part Golden and she played with me more!  Love, Sadie

Have a Golden Life Sadie!  We miss you!

Sadie Rose was officially adopted by Laurie, Buddy, and Caycee 08-215.  They rode a couple of hours to come and meet Sadie and decided that they just couldn't live without her.  Caycee wasn't so sure but we think Buddy the Cocker Spaniel is in love.  As they drove off into the sunset, Buddy was kissing Sadie and welcoming her to her furever home.  She will have lots of room to run and dogs to play ball with.  Have a great life Sadie - your FM misses you already!  Here's a big hug to send you on your way Princess Fluffy!

Farewell, Sadie Rose!

Farewell, Sadie Rose!

Princess Sadie here - ooowee - do I ever smell nice!  Plus, I'm all fluffy!  Princess Sophie and I went to PetCo today for our spa treatments.  We were washed, fluffed, and buffed (well - at least Sophie was - I hated every minute of it).  The dryer scared me, so I planted my fur butt on the floor and wouldn't go near it.  So I don't look as nice as Princess Sophie but at least I'm clean, brushed, and my feet are trimmed.  Thank you to Megan C. at PetCo in Brooklyn Park for trying to convince me that I should be beautiful.  You tried, but I'm a stubborn punk - just ask my FM!

FM has included some before photos of the Princesses out playing.  I don't look much different but Sophie sure does.  She's all POOFIE!  Now I can call her Princess Poofie!  HA HA HA!  (Sophie here - that's QUEEN Poofie to you!)

 Fluffy and clean!So pretty!

Sadie Rose got her stitches out today and she was given a clean bill of health.  She has lost 3 pounds.  The vet said she could stand to lose around 5 more, so eating Sophie's food has been good for her.  She has really bonded with Sophie - so much so that she wouldn't go with me this morning.  When I got ready to leave, she planted her fur butt on the floor and wouldn't move without Sophie.  Sophie was very brave and went for another car ride with Sadie to the vet.  They both are now sacked out from their ordeal.

So I should revise my assessment for her furever home:  Sadie Rose most likely would like to have another dog to hang around with.

I'm including a couple of silly photos of Sadie Rose (below).  As I was writing her update last night, she decided to sleep on her back.  Enjoy!

Silly Sadie Rose! You know you want to rub my belly!!!

Sadie went to the vet today and is now fully UTD on shots, microchipping, and her heartworm test.  We are waiting for the results of the heartworm test but everything else was great.  She weighs 72.5 pounds and will need to lose a little weight.  We'll be working on that.  Her spay is scheduled for next Monday (4/20) and then she will be ready for her furever home.

She was a little scared getting in the car this morning but after riding around to some of my lessons and going to the vet, she just jumped back in like a pro.  She has learned to ride in the elevator and go outside, but we don't always like to do our business while on a leash so we walk and walk and walk!  She's had a couple accidents in the house but she's getting better.

Sadie had a nice weekend with her friend, Liam 08-590, who is going home today.  The kids took a picture on the deck yesterday (see below).  Liam almost caught the Easter bunny again today!  Sadie reads his body language and knows when he's found something, so off she goes looking for it.  It's really cute.  Now she's sacked out on the bed, snoring away from her adventure (yes, on my bed).  She has earned free roam at night.  She and Liam like to snuggle with me at night.  Not a lot of room left in the bed!  Keep watching for our updates!

Hi, Sadie here!  I thought I would take a try at typing on this thing.  Liam (08-590) seems to be able to do so but I definitely have bigger paws than him.  Teddy Bear paws as my FM calls them!

I have been having a fun time playing here with my friends Sophie and Liam.  Actually, Sophie doesn't play and Liam just tries to chase me around when I chasing my tennis ball. (I REALLY LOVE TO CHASE MY TENNIS BALLS!)  I mostly ignore him.  I'm just a big cuddle bunny.  I have my own room here with my crate and I keep my tennis ball stored there.  I do have some issues with resource guarding from the other dogs.  FM can take anything away from me (food, chews, toys) but I growl at the others if I am in my room.  I stop when FM tells me to stop and I have never snapped at the other dogs.  I just kind of warn them.  She tells me that Sophie can't hear me.  Oops, I'll try to be good.

We all went for a walk today and Liam and I ALMOST CAUGHT THE EASTER BUNNY!  Nasty leashes!  I do like to walk.  Sophie and I are so good at walking together!  My human foster brother took our picture below.  I'm the gorgeous red dog in the middle!  Liam is the funny looking one on the left and Sophie is the beautiful one on the right.  She has really pretty feathers!

FM says to tell you that I have done all my pottying outside - not one accident inside.  I have free roam when someone is home, but I am in my crate when they are gone and at night.  She said if I continue with my all-star performance, I get to sleep out of the crate tomorrow night.

We met out neighbor girl today and I sat right down to be petted.  She is about 10 years old.  I don't know if I like littler kids yet but I am very calm so I don't think that would be a problem.  I'm going to see the vet on Monday for a checkup and to schedule my "operation."  Then I'll be ready for my furever home!  Thanks for reading my story.

Update from Foster Mom (afternoon):  Sadie met a nice family of kids out on our walk this afternoon (ages 1-6) and she just loved them!  She was the nicest girl - sat very calmly and let them pet her.  They thought she was so cute.  So - she's kid tested and approved.
