Samantha 08-163

Profile

Hello everyone! My name is Samantha, and I just arrived in Minnesota yesterday with my 3 sisters, Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte. Yep, you've probably heard of us... we used to have a hit show on HBO. If you watched, then you already know that we're all pretty independent, sassy, hip girls... from the "city". Ok, so we're actually from Iowa (shhh), you can't believe everything you see on TV. Oh, and by the way, I want to give a BIG thank you to the nice lady that drove ALL the way to pick us up yesterday to help us start our new lives as RAGOM girls! Since we arrived, the accommodations have been 5 star, the food top notch gourmet, and you'll notice that I'm sporting a very stylish new collar that is all the rage this spring. Guess I could get used to the RAGOM way of life!

So, based on my name, foster mom was expecting me to be the "spitfire" of the group, but this morning she said the jury is still out on whether I'll live up to my reputation. So far, I've only shown her "Sweet Sammie", but maybe that will change as I get a little more comfortable here. I'm adjusting to a whole new ballgame here without my sister sidekicks, but I know eventually I'll be able to show her my true colors. Last night I was a little lonely sleeping in the crate by myself, so I let foster mom know that (in no uncertain terms). As I'm learning to expect, she was very responsive to my needs, and I slept much better snuggled in her arms in bed. Like I said, first rate accommodations all the way!

Well, I'm off for a nap now... a girl needs her beauty sleep you know. We have an engagement later this evening that should be a lot of fun... I love meeting new people, even if they are veterinarians. I'll let foster mom report back on how I did at the social outing. Of course, we all know I'll be fabulous.

TTFN,
Sammie

Not that this should come as a surprise, but I LOVE shoes!!!
These aren't exactly Manolo's, but they sure taste good!

Hello Ragom Buddies!

I’ve been with my forever family for a year and a half already! I’ve been doing grrrrreat! My family has been very pawsitive with me ever since I’ve been here!

I also have a Ragom sister, Lucy (a.k.a. Trina #03-071). We have been having a blast together! We go on exciting walks together, chase squirrels, chew socks, shoes, towels and sticks! Oh yeah, we also like to play tug-o-war, each choosing one side of the towel and then pulling until it rips. It drives my family crazy!

Not only did I gain a sister, I gained an amazing neighbor (KB) who I absolutely love. Whenever my forever family is gone for the day, she takes excellent care of me and my sister.

I’m excited for winter, not only for the cold white stuff but also because Santa Claws is coming! This year I’ve been really good so I think I should get a yummy gift! *wink wink*

This holiday season I am very thankful for Ragom, because they helped me find a forever home. THANK YOU RAGOM!!!

Keep Barking :)

P.S. A few of the photos were taken by a friend of my mommy’s who is a professional photographer. Her name is Laurie and she is a HUGE animal lover.

Our little Samantha got a clean bill of health at the vet -- clean ears and even a negative fecal (YAY, no worms!!!) -- and it goes without saying that she charmed the pants off of everyone there. She truly is a little social butterfly.

She is somewhat of a peanut, at only 12 lbs... the perfect size for lap snuggling! Sammie takes a lot of naps on my lap, which kind of kills my productivity at times, but hey, that's what puppies are for! Sammie's only physical "flaw" is that she has a stubby tail, about a 1/2 inch shorter than normal. The vet wasn't sure if she was born that way, or if the tip was somehow injured, but it doesn't bother her a bit. The tip is currently missing a little hair, but it looks like it's starting to grow back in.

Sammie is definitely feeling more at home here, and we are seeing more and more of her sparkling little personality come out. Seriously, she is a gem!

Since a picture is "worth a thousand words", here's a look at a few of the many sides of Sammie:
