We'd like to introduce you to quite possibly, the cutest, softest, sweetest, AND most adorable Golden Retriever/Lab mix puppy ever!
Here's Sammy! He is 9 weeks old and he came to RAGOM with his brother and sister because their mommy was hit by a car.
Sammy has been with us for a week and he is such a good little boy! He is 99% potty trained and has had only two accidents in the house but they were not his fault. We just got busy and missed his signs and signals for when he needed to go outside. He does his business outside and receives a small treat when he comes back into the house. He has almost mastered sitting nicely and waiting on the rug while we get him the treat. I guess that means he is very "treat motivated".
Sammy is your typical fun-loving puppy. He likes to sleep, eat and play and then repeat. He likes to chew on toys, slippers, shoes and almost anything else that he can find. He is easily redirected with a chew toy and empties his toy box every day. Sammy is baby-gated into our kitchen/family room area. He also interacts well with our 6-year old yellow lab, Skeeter, often trying to engage him in play or laying down next to him. However, Skeeter thinks Sammy is a little pest and often jumps the baby gates to get away from him!
"Sammer" is crated during the night and bedtime is around 10:30 pm. He lays down nicely and goes right to sleep. He has barked a couple of times in the middle of the night, but it lasts only about 5 minutes and he goes right back to sleep. He keeps the crate clean and dry all night so we think he is just "bored" and wants to get us up for some play time and snuggles. He definitely loves his people. He follows us around the house and loves to lay by our feet.
Sammy has had a couple of trips in the car. He was a little nervous at first but settled down nicely and fell asleep. At Sammy's last visit to the vet, he weighed 6 lbs. He was microchipped and received his first set of shots. He will go in for his next set of boosters next week and we will discuss when to have him neutered. Once little Sammy is neutered, he will be ready for his forever family.
Sammy will need a forever family that is ready for his puppy playfulness and mischief. He is very young and therefore is not yet ready to be crated for long periods of time. He needs typical puppy training and lots of love. Are you interested in Sammy? If so, contact your placement advisor today.
