Sandy and I arrived at her new home and all family members were gathering together to meet her. Sandy was very relaxed after the first few minutes and started playing with the resident dog. She also asked attention from everyone in the house.

Sandy is joining such a great family! I already received an email from Susie reporting Sandy is doing well.

Hi everyone, it’s me again. I’ve been having a lot of fun the last two weeks and I wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to.

First, foster mom sent me to doggie daycare a few times with my fur brother Douglas, the first day was a bit overwhelming but I loved it. I even made a good friend there, a playful Corgi puppy. I go a couple times a week and it’s been great for my socialization.

My first bath went well; foster mom did not use the blow dryer, because she thought the loud noise probably would scare me. The bath was not as bad as I thought it was going to be and look how fluffy I am.

See how fluffy I am?

Have you guys ever seen snow?! It’s the best! Foster mom took Douglas and me out during the last snow storm. We ran and ran and ran, eventually we found a snow pile that had a cute mouse underneath. Don’t worry we didn’t hurt him.

Hey, there is a rat!!

Did I tell you how much I love my fur brother and my foster mom? I snuggle with them all the time. Every night, I enjoy a 20-minute face message, it is a fantastic time between my foster mom and me.

Have you ever heard a thing called yogurt race? I bet you haven't; it is an individual race between my fur brother Douglas and me, we compete to finish a jar of yogurt cleanly and quickly. Yummmmm. I can tell you all about the things I like to eat but be ready it will be a long list.

Life is good, I love my time with my foster mom and Douglas, but I still can’t help but wonder what my forever home looks like. Do you think I’d be a perfect fit for your home? I would love to meet you!

Hello, my name is Sandy! I’ve been living with my foster mom for a couple of weeks now and she thought it was about time for me to introduce myself. I’m a beautiful (foster mom tells me this ten times a day so it must be true), lighter colored Golden.

Hello from Sandy

I’ve had some big changes since I was rescued by RAGOM! When I first arrived, I was very terrified and completely shut down emotionally; my temp foster mom opened her heart and her wonderful home while my perm foster mom was away on a trip. I spent more than two weeks with them and made significant progress there. I realized I was safe and only good things and love were in my future.

Initially, car rides were kind of scary for me but foster mom has helped me get over that fear. Now I’m able to jump on the back seat with a little help and jump off all by myself.

My foster mom brought me to the vet; new places still make me a little nervous. The vet was so nice and offered me yummy treats. I almost emptied her entire treat jar during my 10-minute visit! I’ve been spayed and am up to date on my shots and preventatives. I am still a bit skinny but foster mom has been working on helping me gain some weight and I’m more than happy to oblige.

I don’t know a lot of commands yet, but I am a fast learner and I’ve been learning from my fur brother Douglas. I still remember the first walk I had with foster mom. I pulled her in all directions and it took us 20 minutes to move ½ mile or less. Now, Douglas and I walk together 3 times a day (at least) and my leash manners are almost perfect.

With lots of love, I’ve become very playful and I love to play with my fur brother Douglas. He even lets me steal his toys and bed, share his food and treats, and he has really helped me learn how to be a more confident dog.

Yummy, the turkey looks good

I am a curious girl; I like to explore everything in the house including the kitty. He does not like me but he tolerates my curiosity.

I’m good with all people and dogs, very gentle when taking treats. According to foster mom, I am a perfect girl…no behavior issues, no resource guarding, and she can groom me easily at home. She will give me my first bath next week and she will let you know how it goes….
