Valentine's Hugs and Kisses from Julie S

I am Santana and I am the son of Chamios 10-026. I was surrendered to RAGOM because of a house foreclosure along with my mother.  We were loved very much,  but because of the foreclosure our previous family wanted what was best for us and knew that RAGOM was it. I am Golden/Brittney, 3 1/2 years old, and I weighed 64 lbs. when I went to the vet. The vet thought that I also might have some allergies, but not like my mother. I was given a steroid shot and I am on Prednisone.

I am good with cats, but have not been exposed to children here at the foster home, but I previously lived with a one year old and was just fine with her. I am housetrained and I do just fine when FM is not at home. I depend a lot on my mother, Chamios; and we are always together. We run and play with each other ALL the time when we are out in the back yard. We play a lot with each other inside also.  FM would really like us to go together. I would not be a good "only" dog.  I have not been alone here when FM leaves, but my previously owner said that I can be destructive it I am left alone by myself.  I am not used to walking on a leash as we never had collars on when we were in our previously home.  We always stayed around when we were in the yard.  Once the weather gets nicer, FM will be taking us on walks to see how we do on a leash. The roads out here have been very icy, so we have not been going on walks.

Aren't I a handsome dude?

I love chewing on these bones!!

I want to thank Friends of Flicka for my star in memory of Grizzly, and also Julie S. for my Valentine heart, hugs and kisses. Your donations are really helpful and appreciated. Thanks again so very much.

I went to the vet for my yearly check up. I weighed in at 48 pounds. The good doctor said that I looked really good.

We have had company from time to time with children lately, and I have really enjoyed playing with them and having them here. Of course, I know that they came to only see me. :) :)

I am still my sweet, lovable, and cuddly self. I would love to show you how sweet and lovable that I am. Please contact your Placement Advisor if you want to find out.

I'm chilling with my resident sister, Gracie.

Foster Mom thinks it is cute when I sit like this.

I am telling Foster Mom that I have to go potty.

There certainly has been a lot of hustle and bustle around here lately, but Foster Mon still takes the time to play, play, play with me and love, love, love on me.

Also, there have been many times that there have been kids over, and when they come over, I really love it as I get to play, play, play some more.

I really did not like having this bandana put on me, but Foster Mom said that it made me look even more handsome. So, I obliged and let her put it on, but I wasn't going to smile for her.

I have said this many times before, that I really love it here, but Chamois (my mom) and I really do need to have our own furever home. If you can stand a 50-pound lap dog and all of the lovin' that you ever wanted, then we are the puppers just for you.

I have been a bad boy and have not updated myself in a long time. This summer was busy with lots of company with kids and that meant fun, fun, fun, and LOTS of playing, playing, playing. I was in seventh heaven. I have been really good and continue being the bestest boy. This place is a really good place to be, but I am still waiting for that just right furever family. They just do not know what they are missing. If you think you are that furever family, let your placement advisor know and I will give you all the loving that you can stand.

I play hard and I sleep hard.

I'm telling FM that I have to go out and potty.

Mom and I play inside a lot too.

Sitting nicely just before mom and I played hard.

Here I am making sure that my resident sister does not take my toy.

Friday, June 29, 2012

I know that I have not done an update on myself in quite awhile, but I want all to know that I am doing really well. It has gotten hot here, so I am not able to stay outside and play as long as I like, but I have lots to do inside, so I do not mind. It is also much cooler inside. I am waiting for that wonderful family out there to take me and my mom Chamois home to get all the loving that they want. I love love love kids so that would be a plus. Here I am with resident sister. Can you tell that I am eying that toy that she has? Maybe I can take it when she is not looking.I had to check out what was outside along with my resident brother. You never know what you find out there. :)

This was certainly a busy holiday season around the foster home. I want to thank the person/s who donated a holiday icon for me in memory of their Zera and Athena and also my Goldziilla Friend anonymous donor. They are very much appreciated. Thanks again so much.
I continue to do so very well. I have compiled a list of things that I want you to know.

  • I am very social. I love everybody. I love my humans and kids of all ages. Especially the kids that come to visit and play, play, play with me.
  • I get along with other dogs. There have been eight dogs here at once before and there has been no problems.
  • I have free roam of the house, both day and night. I am potty trained and do not chew things up, except for an occasional woobie.
  • I love to play with tenny balls and to play, play, play with my mom Chamois. I will play once in awhile with resident dog Jake, but mostly play with my mom Chamois.
  • I do not resource guard my food and I sit nicely when told to when FM puts my food down and I wait until I am told that I can eat. I also sit very nicely for my treats.
  • I like to ride in the car.
  • I love to go for a walk. I also love to go down with Chamois and FM to get the paper in the morning and the mail in the afternoon. I sit very nicely at the end of the driveway when told to sit and wait. Then when FM gets back from going across, I know I can go run back up to the house.
  • There are 4 indoor cats here and 5 outdoor/barn cats here. I do not chase the outdoor cats and I mostly do not chase the indoor cats except for occasionally when I think they might want to play. But when FM says I cannot do that, I stop.
  • I can be outside in front without a leash as long as FM is there. I like to go off investigating with Chamois, but when told to come back, I do.
  • I am a love bug and love to snuggle. I think I am a lap dog.
  • I sit well for my baths once I get into the tub.
  • I do not like to be left alone and I like to know that there are either other dogs around or humans around.

At the end of this month, I will have been with my foster family for two years and as much as I love it here, I would really like to have a furever home to call my own. You would not be disappointed to have all the love that you could stand. If you think my mom Chamois and I will fit into your family and you would like to meet us, please let your placement advisor know. You will not be disappointed. We weren't too sure about our Christmas bandanas, but we did not try to take them off.

Just checking in to tell you that things here are really good. I continue to be the bestest of boys. I am having lots of fun chasing those balls out in the nice beautiful weather. In the first picture I am playing with a new toy that mom handed to me, but when I turned my head my mother Chamois snatched it away from me.

That wasn't very nice of her. So I took the other new toy that FM gave to one of my residents brothers and I am laying on it so no one snatches it from me. I love to carry toys like this around and sometimes I just lay with them.

Chamois and I are looking for that wonderful furever home. Is that your home? If it is, contact your placement advisor please.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

I am really liking this cooler weather. It means playing ball and running and running around the yard. FM would not let me play ball and run around the yard like I wanted to when it was so hot out. She said it was not good for me to get that hot and tired. I hate to brag on myself, but I continue to do very well and continue being a love bug. I am waiting for that furever home so Chamois and I can give you ALL the loving that you would ever need or want. Please contact your placement advisor so we can get the ball rolling here. Hope to see you real soon.

You can tell I like to carry the woobies around. Here I am (on the right) in the first picture with my foster sister Casey. FM went into the basement and we are not allowed down there, so we were at the top watching for her and making sure that she was coming back up. In the second picture I am with one of the resident brothers. He likes carrying the woobies around also. "Mom.....are you down there and coming back up to see us??"

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

I know that it has been a looooong time since I have been on this plastic box to give everyone an update on me. There is nothing new about me other than I still continue to be a wonderful pupper and a real love bug. I am soooo glad that I am able to go outside again and play ball with my mom Chamois. We love to be outside running and chasing each other.

As you can see, I am still playing with the big bone wobbie. There is also a big blue one that I also carry around all the time and many times Chamois and I are playing tug with one of them.

I'm late, I'm late to give you an update. I have been with FM and FD for a year now and I continue to do very well. I have been back to the vet for my yearly shots and I weigh 55 pounds. I am down 9 pounds from when I first came here. I sure am feeling and looking very good. I am in very good shape except for an ear infection that we are getting cleared up. I am on a grain free food which has really helped with my itching. I really like it. I like the snow, but not to roll in it. I love to eat it. I eat the hard pieces because I think that are a lot like ice cubes and I just love ice cubes. FM just can not say enough about me and how good I am. FD tells me all the time what a good boy I am. Again I say, if you want all the love that you can stand, please contact your placement advisor and check me out.

No matter where you sit, I will be sitting with you. I am helping FD do some work.

Having fun in the snow.

It's past due time to tell you that I am still doing really really well. I have been saying my prayers that I find that wonderful "fur"ever home. I just love it here, but a "fur"ever home of our own would really be GReat.

Bath time was last night; and boy, do I smell good and look handsome.  I really do not like to get into the bath tub; but once I get into the tub, I am okay and I don't give FD any trouble.  I'm not really hip on bath time, but I stand real nice.

There is really nothing new report about me. I still continue to be wonderful and very loving. I am still using all the manners I have learned here, and FM is so proud of me. I hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be thankful for. I let FM know every day that I am thankful for her wonderful care, with all of my love and sitting in her lap every time she sits down. (That also gets me lots of pets and hugs!!!!)

If you think that your "fur"ever home is the one for my mom Chamois and I, please contact your placement advisor so FM can talk to you and answer all of your questions. We would LOVE to see Santa at your house.

I still continue to do well here in my Great foster home. I have learned something new. When I first got here, when we ate, I got to just dig in to my food. Then I had to learn to "sit" before I could eat and now I have learned to sit and "wait" before I eat. I wait until FM says "good puppers, you can eat." When I "wait", I look at my food because I am ready to dig in but Chamois looks at FM to give us the command.

See how nice we wait to eat until we are told we are "good puppers"

I still do well on my walks and when we go down to get the paper or the mail.

On Oct. 16th from, 11:30-2:00, I will be at the Pet Expo in the 4H building at the fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa with my mom Chamois. I hope that I get to meet lots of people that just fall in love with us. We love it here at our foster home, but really really want to have a forever home of our own. If you would like ALL the love that you can stand, then we are the puppers just for you, so contact your placement advisor and ask about us.

FM says that I am slacking on my duties and that I really need to get an update sent in. This will sound like a broken record, but I continue to do very well. The last couple of days have been really nice without all of the humidity, so I got to play play play outside. FM has been taking Chamios and I down with her to get the paper in the morning and the mail in the afternoon. When we get to the end of the driveway she puts me in a "sit, stay." FM goes across the road to get the paper or the mail and I sit and wait for her to come back across. When she gets back across, she tells me that I am a good boy and that is my clue to go run, chase, and play with Chamois.

I continue to do well on our walks. When I got to this wonderful foster home I was not use to wearing a collar and a leash. So when we would go for our walks, I fought something terrible. FM decided that I needed to use a Gentle Leader to help me out. I did not like that either, but it helped me to be a good walker. Well, I have graduated!!!! I can now walk without the Gentle leader and just a leash. Yea to me!!

FM has been teaching me some new manners. I know that I have to sit before I get to eat my breakfast and my supper, but FM is teaching me to "wait" before I dive into my food. I am doing very well. I do not start eating until I hear "good puppers, you can eat."

Please contact your placement advisor if you wish to receive more info on me. I just know that there is a perfect family out there for my mother and me.

Chamois likes to pull this blanket off of the couch and then we play in it.

What do you mean we are being silly?

I play hard and I sleep hard.

It's time to let all know what has been going on with me. I still continue to be the bestest girl. FM's friend and her daughter came to visit two weekends ago. What fun and Alyssa got to stay with us for the week. Boy did we have fun. We played ball, played chase, played ball, went for walks, and played ball. Did I mention that we played ball? Then FM's friend came back last weekend with two more kids. I LOVE company and I LOVE kids. We played ball and ball and ball and ball. Erik played with me lots and lots and lots. After they left on Sunday, I looked and looked for them to come back. I kept telling FM that I had to go out and potty and when we went out, I looked and looked for the kids, but did not find them.

If you want all the lovin' and fun that you can get, let your placement person know that you are interested in me and my mom. We would love to hear from you. If you have kids that will play with us, that would be sooooo GReat.

I sure do have fun with this bone woobie. There are two of them here and FM says that when we find our new forever home, that these two bone woobies will go with us.

I sit really nice. Especially when there is a treat involved.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Okay....I got caught and FM says that I cannot be on here long because it is starting to storm and we have to shut this plastic box down. I continue to be such a good boy. FM and FD have had some company lately and I know that they came here to see just me me me because I just love love love love all the pets. I just loved the company because some of them let me sit on their lap, even though FM says that at 60 pounds I am not a lap dog. But I sure proved her wrong!!!!!!!!

I am still doing well on my walks, but some days we have not been able to go as far, because it has been really humid here, and FM says that she does not want me to get overheated. But I would go farther if I could.

FM says that since I am such a good boy that I will be at the RAGOM picnic on Saturday. Oh boy! Oh boy!  More people to love on me and give me pets.  I know that when you also read about my mom Chamois that it is almost the same as mine, but we are so much like two peas in a pod that we just do everything just a like. Uh oh. I gotta go. FM needs to turn of this plastic box because it is lightening and thundering out side. Until next time.

If you want ALL the love you can get and two of the best puppers ever, please contact your placement advisors and tell them that you would like to take to my FM.

Sunday, May 9, 2010

FM has been very very busy with baby goats and has not been on this plastic box much and has not had it on for me to get on here to tell everyone how wonderful I am.  I continue to be a very good girl, and I still continue to do very well on my walks.  FM and FD have had company a couple of times lately and both times there was someone who was VERY smitten with me and wanted to take me home.  Both times after they left I laid by the back door waiting for them to come back and play with me.  FM had told them that if they took me that they would also have to take my mom and they said that they would take Chamois in a minute too.

I wanted to go and see the baby goats, but FM would not let me.  She said that since I bark at the cows now and then, that if I was to bark at the baby goats, that I would scare them.

If you would like to have lots and lots of loving and two of the bestest dogs ever, please talk to your placement advisor about Chamois and I. You WILL not be disappointed.

FM says that I am lacking in my duties and that I really need to get in an update on me. I continue to do very well. FM says that I am just the best boy. Now that the weather has turned nice, FM has been teaching me to go on walks. In my former home I never wore a collar or was on a leash. I am doing really well when we go for a walk. I do very well with my collar and gentle leader on. I walk right beside my FM on one side while my mom Chamois is on the other side. I really do enjoy my walks.

We had lots of company this weekend. My FD's parents had their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday and we had lots of family here. There were kids here and I really had lots and lots of fun playing with them. They were ages 2 1/2 to 8. FD's son who came from LA just fell in love with me and spent a lot of time with me. He reallly really wanted to take me home with him.

Along with everything I know, I also know down and drop it. I mind very well. FM keeps telling me that I am just the bestest. Everybody that meets us just falls in love with us. If you would like a very very loving mother and son, please let your placement advisor know.

This sure is the life of Riley here.
My foster sister (who is a RAGOM girl) and I like to spend a lot of time here.

My new thing that I like to do is to sit and look out the front window so I do not miss anything.

My mom, Chamois 10-026, and I spend a lot of time together and we are like two peas in a pod.

Monday, March 15, 2010

I need to give you an update on how I am doing.  I was spayed and I am doing really well.  I have lost two pounds, and I am now 62 pounds.  I really did miss my mom, Chamios, when she was gone to be spayed.  I wined and cried a lot when she was gone, and keep telling FM that I had to go out and potty.  But really I was looking for my mom.  When she got home, I heard the car come into the garage and I was waiting at the door. We sure did do the happy dance when we saw each other.

Now that the snow has been melting and it has been raining some, it is really wet in the back yard.  FM thinks it is really cute that I know "wipe your feet."  When I come into the house she will tell me "wipe your feet" and I will sit on the towel until my feet dry some or she wipes my feet off for me.  I come when my name is called.  I know "sit, no, quit, come here, off, easy" (when we are getting treats), and we are working on "down."  I like to play ball, but since it has been so wet out in the yard, we haven't played ball much. I sure am hoping it dries up soon.

I am fine when I am left at home as long as there is another dog there.  When someone comes to the door, I bark at them until they come in the door and then I am fine.  I am a real love bug and love my belly rubs.  I think that I am a lap dog and will prove it to you by getting on your lap wherever you are sitting and even if there is not room. As you can tell from the pictures below, I really do love my mom and we do soooo much together.  We are usually never far apart.  If you can stand all the love and enjoyment we have to give, please talk to your placement advisor.  We would love to give you that love and enjoyment.
