2003: Scarlet has been with us since Saturday. She is between 3 and 4 years old and spayed. Her coat is a medium red and pretty thick right now as she spent a lot of time outside during the winter. Scarlet is a littermate to Jake and the owner wanted to keep them together if possible. Scarlet loves attention. She will let you pet her forever if you have the time. We took her for a short walk on Saturday and she wasn't liking the Gentle Leader at first . However, she did really well for being in a strange place. She has had a small amount of obedience training and she listens well. Scarlet is used to cats, but I haven't let her loose around our two cats yet. She is good with children and has been around a 2 year old. If she thinks she is going for a ride in a car she gets all excited to go. Scarlet has a stocky body type, but does need to lose some weight. She is used to being fed with her brother, Jake, and I am not sure if she got more food than she needed or what. Scarlet is more of the follower with Jake being the leader. She does get worried if Jake is taken out of her sight. She has a typical Golden personality - extremely friendly and loving.

Here are a couple recent pictures of Scarlet. One with her buddy Jake and Max. Scarlet and I volunteered for B.A.R.T. (Basic Animal Rescue Training) where First responders are trained how to help animals in emergency situations. She loved the attention and every one loved her. She also went with me to schools to teach pet care and responsibilty. Thanks for all you do for these wonderful dogs.
