Scotch is a great dog. She still gets along well with everyone here....she was a bit too interested in our pet rabbit, but that seems to be lessening as time goes on, she totally ignores the cat. Tonight we walked two miles and she walks wonderfully...I was able to take my two dogs and Scotch...all wearing Gentle Leaders....and we had no issues at all. She does stairs like a young dog...she moves very nicely for a 12 year old. She doesn't try to get on the furniiture, but she does insist on sleeping in bed with a human....the first night here, she slept in the kitchen...after that night she must have figured we were okay because she has joined us....she's now at my feet as I type. She has been alone for about 5 hours....longer times alone happen only ocasionally around here so I won't really have that answer for a while, but she was fine after 5 hours. If you are looking to share your home with a couple of very calm, mild yet loving dogs that are also able to join you for walks and other activities, please email placementragom [dot] org.
For some comparison, here is Scotch on her first night at her new foster home, a little unsure about what's going on. She arrived with "her" blanket and didn't move from it...
.....and tonight! What a difference a day makes! She's hanging out with the other dogs, happily chewing on a bone!
