Please welcome Sierra to the RAGOM family. She arrived about a week ago from Oklahoma. She is 8 years young, spayed and pretty healthy. She has a little ear infection and a red eyeball. Both are being treated by meds. She is 85 lbs and needs to lose about 5 lbs.
What do I know about Sierra so far?? Well, she’s ALL golden, in looks and personality. She’s blonde and a bit grey in the face. She is very loving, snuggly and craves attention. However, she’s not obnoxious, like some Goldens I know (my own!). We don’t know anything about her background, but it is very obvious she came from a loving family. She has been well taken care of, physically and emotionally. I’m not sure why she was surrendered, but it must have been heartbreaking for her family.
She has adjusted well here. She gets along fabulously with my dogs and has met several others without incident. She is beginning to play a little with my dogs, but she’d much rather have the attention of a human.
I would like to see her go to a home that is dedicated to walking her. She has been going on daily 1 hour walks since she arrived and she is doing very well and really seems to enjoy them. I use a Gentle Leader (as I do with my own dogs and other fosters) and she doesn’t balk at it. Other than sit, I haven’t had a chance to see what other commands she knows. I would assume she’ll be easy to train because she is treat-motivated.
She enjoys my teenagers and I have doubt that she would love smaller children too. I will try and get her exposed to some younger kids and report back to you. I’m not sure about cats---I don’t have one. But, if you’re interested and you have a cat, I can get her cat-tested by bringing her to a friend’s house that has several cats.
Sierra is super-easy and such a doll. Some lucky family out there is striking gold with her! Are you interested in meeting her??If so, let Placement know.
