Simon is a neutered male adult golden mix. He is from a group of about 70 dogs that were being hoarded in AR.

Simon looks like a brown and golden teddy bear. I am guessing that he is about 4 years old. I will see what the vet thinks when I take him in tomorrow.  I think that he is about 65 pounds but will see what the vet's scale says.

Sadly, we know that he is heartworm positive and so will have a difficult period of recovery ahead of him. It can last 30 to 60 days during which time he must be kept quiet. He is most comfortable in his crate and stays there voluntarily, so keeping him quiet has not been an issue.

He likes to eat, so that is good. I took him out of his crate on a leash this AM. We ALMOST made it to the back door. He did all that he needed to do (and that was quite a lot!) in the kitchen. At least it was easy to clean up on that floor. He is very shy when not in in crate and will find a corner to face his head into. Outside he does the same thing and makes himself very small. He has not interacted much with my two resident dogs. I have had to give him pills and he is very easy to handle. No aggression whatsoever. I think he will turn into a really sweet teddy bear once he gets acclimated and healthy.
