My sweet baby girl Snowy has hit the big time. She has been adopted by a wonderful woman who has a very sweet male lab and an equally nice young adult son to keep her company. Snowy will accompany her mom on visits to her patients who receive home care. She will enjoy walks and running errands with both her new mom and her new human brother. Snowy has a huge home and a wonderful large back yard. Snowy's mom said Leo the resident lab, wagged his tail when she brought Snowy home and he has a "new pep to his step" which surprised her. I'm not too surprised as Snowy is a very happy, loving girl and everyone who meets her smiles and feels her love. Her new family is over joyed with their new addition and will provide me with lots of updates. My house is quiet without Snowy, and she's the quiet one. We all miss her but we are all happy knowing that she finally has a family of her own and will not have to move again. I know she is happy!!
Snowy and her buddy Raven 11-173 (my adopted RAGOM boy) enjoyed a spa day before Snowy left for her forever home. They both had baths at Bubbly Paws as part of their Bubbly Bowl celebration. Both did great and were good ambassadors for RAGOM's non-traditional Golden's. Neither liked the blow dryers but with their shorter coats they did fine with an extra towel or two. Thanks to Bubbly Paws for supporting rescues!!
Snowy would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful team of people who helped her become a RAGOM dog. Thanks to Konnie S for saying yes to Snowy, a senior lab, no Golden there, when we picked up Snowy and her 9 friends. Thanks to Jane N who lent her backyard and bath tub facilities so Snowy and her pals could get a bath as soon as they arrived from ND. Thanks to the legion of volunteers who gave up a Friday night on very short notice to give baths to smelly, not so social dogs. All this happened just in the first 10 hours of Snowy becoming a RAGOM dog. Imagine all the volunteers who have helped her over the past 5 plus months!! Snowy says thanks to everyone who has helped her and continues to help all the other dogs, she will extend the favor by helping her new brother grow and enjoy life just a little bit more. A truly happy ending for all.
Thank you, foster mom & crew.

Snowy does not act like she is 9 years old. She keeps up fine with my 4 year old lab, Rocco and with Raven my 2 year old lab/Golden mix. She is in much better shape than my 9.5 year old female lab Jimmie and can run circles around her. Snowy loves to chase rabbits and squirrels in the back yard and flies off the deck to run after them. Snowy does not play with toys, although today she did pick up a stuffed toy that Raven was trying to destuff. She did not seem to know what to do with it once she picked it up and just took it to a dog bed and rested next to it. She does not know what a tennis ball is used for but she'll figure all of this out as she watches my resident dogs play.

Snowy continues to be an absolute sweetheart to foster and is such a nice girl. She has now discovered the joys of chewing on nylabones and beef bones. She has no issues with resource guarding and will let me take them away from her if needed and is fine to chew on them right next to the other dogs....even next to crabby girl Jimmie. She has also found joy in destuffing toys.....thanks to Raven for showing her this. She destuffs the toys but does not eat the stuffing or parts that she removes. Snowy has also discovered playing with other dogs and will now initiate wrestling with Rocco or Raven. She absolutely loves the 8 month old Golden that I dog sit for one day a week and loves to play with her. It's so fun to see a 9 year old dog playing with an 8 month old pup!! Rocco has also taught Snowy how to pick apples off my apple trees and that the apples on the ground are good eating but watch for bees and wasps.
Hi everyone, it's me Snowy and I am sending in my own update today. My AKC registered name is Snow Angel but my friends and family call me Snowy. Foster mom calls me Sweet Snowy, or Silly Snowy because she says I'm both sweet and silly. I've been living with foster mom and the crew here for 10 days now and I think I have the routine down. It's really a good life here as I have three dog friends to hang out with, a nice big backyard to run in and a good foster mom who feeds me twice a day. I also get treats for going outside to do my business and for doing things like sitting and coming when asked. I love, love., love to sleep on the couch and in bed at night. All foster mom has to say is "time for bed" and I'm the first one in bed....got to get the good spot as all the dogs here like to sleep in the bed. I sleep all night without a peep and hardly move at all....don't want the other dogs to take my spot on the bed!! I am completely housebroken and will whine a bit when I need to go out or run to the door and back if you don't hear me. I love to run out the back door and fly off the deck to chase what ever is in the back yard. Foster mom is very surprised to see how fast and agile I am. I can beat Rocco off the deck and into the yard and he's only 4 years old!! I don't play with toys and really don't play with the other dogs, although Raven and I did a little wresting and paw battling yesterday morning. That was fun and I like Raven. Rocco likes to give me kisses and I'm getting used to that. Jimmie (the crabby female) still tries to boss me around like she does the boys but I stand up for myself and have told her to knock it off. I just want Jimmie to know that she's not the boss of me!! So far, all is good.
For my forever home I would like to live with at least one other dog or more. I also would like a fenced yard and no children under the age of 10. I've not lived with children so I'm not sure what to make of all their noise and energy, plus I get excited and might knock over a little kid. I do like children, I've met the next door neighbor kids ages 1 - 7 and did fine with them. I also met their dog, and I'm fine with him, he is a Golden/Alaskan mix, so he's a big boy but really nice. Foster mom says I am the easiest foster she's had so far. She says I am a move in ready kind of dog. I'd really like someone who wants a snuggle partner and someone who will let me sleep on the furniture. Please contact your placement adviser if you are interested in meeting me. Don't forget to come and see me at Goldzilla on the 17th. I'll be the white lab in a sea of Golden's.
