Heeerrrrreeeeessssss Spanky, fresh from her bath and brushing....which produced a lb. of fur. She is still a bit nervous, as Scooder 05-382 wasn't the most welcoming little boy - probably my fault....could have done better with the intros I guess. Reba of course, likes everyone. Spanky is a hefty girl to say the least. She's probably around 3 or 4 years old, will have better estimate tommorow at the vet and will have a definite weight then. She is good with the cats....just sniffs - I don't think she's seen one before, or lived with one and is accustomed to them. She gets antsy when she has to go out and I just ask her and off to the door she goes....we've established we go out thru the garage.....not the sliders to the deck :) She was too excited to eat tonight, but being she could lose about 15 to 20 lbs., it won't hurt her. She wants to play with Reba...who's too tired, and Scooder just isn't going to be a nice boy to play with in the house. They did romp a bit out side, but in this weather they can't be out too long. Things are still a bit tense...mostly on Scooder's part....come Monday he won't be quite the same "man" when he comes back and hopefully that will help a bit with him. Look for the next update on this sweet girl, who by the way was great about getting bathed and loved, loved getting brushed. We are going to be working on Spanky's one bad habit.....flipping your hand or arm up in the air.

Hi, Spanky here. Guess it's time for an update, huh? Well, it seems the family figured out I wasn't 100% house broken, so now I am working on learning to try and ring the big bell on the door, to let them know I want to go out. They sure do get excited when I go potty outside.....and then I get a treat and lots of praise. Scooder and I are working out our differences more or less. We even play a little now and then. Couple times it got a little nasty, but I think he is finally seeing me as a good playmate. I am still not very interested in food, at least at mealtime. But since the vet said I could stand to lose 20 lbs., guess I'll get by ok.

I got my microchip put in on Thursday and they are running a couple tests to make sure I'm peeing inside cuz I'm not housetrained and not cuz I have anything wrong with me. So far the tests have come back good. I am enjoying the cool weather and love to go out and roll around in the snow or just lay there and enjoy the day. I am still pacing around outside and some inside. I think it would be good to have someone to rough house with me and play catch and just wrestle around. Foster mom's back got hurt so she can't get down and play much. Sedwick the elusive cat has finally decided it was ok to come out and even get up on the couch to hang out with us furr butts.

I have discovered it's great fun to poke at foster dad, at the back of his head, when he's in the recliner watching TV. Mom laughs and he just ignores me cuz when he plays with me I get excited and sometimes piddle a bit. I have been told I'm a good listner, come when called, sit down most of the time, and just like to be touched and loved up. Still working on the "mouthing" thing. I am ready for my forever home, I will still need training in regard to going outside to potty and would love to go to obedience class and socialize and learn all the neat stuff they teach you on how to be a better dog. I will be visiting another foster while my foster family is on vacation from the 14th to the 23rd. But that's ok, I know I will have fun at the other foster's house cuz she has some furr butts and kids to play with.

Well, better get off to bed. I'm sure you can see by the pictures I'm good with the cats, love to cuddle and you could have me as part of your family before you bring in the New Year. If you're so inclined to meet moi, please contact Placementatragom [dot] org.
