Please welcome Starr. She is a Golden Retriever rescued from a South Dakota breeder. She is around 18 months old and has come to my home with her family of 8 puppies. She has cared for them so nicely. They are beautiful bundles of joy. Starr is blonde in color and her weight is 55lb. She is up to date on her vaccinations. She will need to be spayed and get a good checkup form the vet when she is feeling a bit more comfortable. She is very shy right now. She will follow me around, I think it is because she can smell her puppies on me.The puppies are big enough now that she is not nursing them anymore and they are eating kibble and drinking water. Starr is not house trained or kennel trained, that will be one of the things we will work on in the coming weeks. Just like all dogs that come from this kind of situation. BABY STEPS. She will need another dog a fenced in yard and no small children in her forever home. I will update again when I learn more about this sweet dog.

I am sorry to tell you Starr will not be at the Burnsville Petco this Saturday; she has a very good reason for canceling her appointment. Starr has found her forever home and has been adopted. She is very thankful to all the people who have helped her on her journey to freedom.

She will have a wonderful life with her new family. She will have a dog brother, Caleb, to teacher her at her new home, she will have a very large backyard to play in. Her new family has a dog play group that meet at their home each week. She is a very lucky dog! They are a very lucky family to get such a great dog! Starr will be missed, we love her very much!

Starr is doing so well at my home. She is very playful with the resident dog and has warmed up to my new foster. The new foster is 11 months old and Starr is not so sure she wants to play that much so she will give the new pup a warning growl to tell her to back off. That seems to be working, they get along great.

Starr is very comfortable in her crate she spends part of her day in there and the rest of the day she has free roam, I do keep a eye on her as she is not giving me signals that she needs to go outside. I let her out often, every few hours and that seems to be enough to keep her from having accidents in the house.

Starr is looking for her forever home, she has been spayed and has recovered nicely from that. Starr will need a fenced in back yard, no children under the age of 10 and a medium to large size dog to help her continue to learn. Starr is very friendly and is not afraid of strangers. She will let anyone pet her and will come right up to people she does not know. She likes to chew on her bones and get petted she will also lay down by your feet and take a nap, she is not pushy about getting petted and is just as happy laying by you. If you get up she will follow, she likes to know what is going on. She is a bit afraid of loud noises, she does not run away but stops and waits to see where the noise came from and then continues to do what ever she was doing before the interruption.

Starr is a very happy girl, she likes to carry things around in her mouth. She is keeping her crate clean and doing all her business outside.

Starr went to her first meet and greet on Saturday! She did a great job! She met a lot of people and was very happy to be with the other dogs.

She is a very easy foster, she likes to lay at my feet and will follow me around the house. She also enjoys playing with the resident dog. I have started taking Starr on some short walks around the neighborhood, she doesn't pull on the leash but is not sure where to walk so she cuts me off and does circles around me. We will keep working on that! She is like a puppy in the way she doesn't know what is appropriate to chew on and what isn't. She will put her paws on the counter to see what is up there. We will work on that as well, she is easy to redirect and does listen when I tell her no.

She is a little nervous when we go in the car but settles down and enjoys the ride in just a few minutes. Starr enjoys her crate, she is learning the words kennel up, she is starting to go in on her own when I tell her that. Today I left the door open and she went in and took a nap.

Starr has been to the vet and is up to date on her shots. She is very healthy and looking for her forever home. She will need a fenced in yard, another medium to large size dog and no children under the age of ten. If you would like to meet Starr please contact your placement adviser.

She has only been here a few short weeks and is learning a lot. She is going to be a great dog!

Starr is doing great! She is much more comfortable and is checking out the house. She likes to be by the resident dog and will even get excited and wag her tail. She is also keeping her crate clean and doing her business outside. She in not what I would call housetrained but we are headed in the right direction.

Starr is a very sweet girl and will make a great companion. She is coming out of her shell much faster then many dogs that come from this kind of background. She will also follow me around the house. She is my little shadow.

Starr and I would like to say a big thank you and send puppy kisses to Timber and Mikko for sponsoring her. That is so great!!! we are very grateful!

I think she is hoping that there might be a gift for her in that box!
