Profile

Stella came to RAGOM from a commercial breeding environment. She is a healthy girl whose days of raising puppies are over. As with many dogs from this background, unexpected noises frighten her easily. As a result, any children in her home should be age 10+. Stella requires another confident dog in her home to learn from and model. She likes to explore, so a physical fence is required to keep her safe. Stella craves affection and needs a patient, loving home that will help her blossom.

Our sweet foster Stella was adopted today to a wonderful couple and has found her forever home. She will be joined by their 6-year-old male Golden Retriever to have as a playmate and to show her the joys of just being a dog.

She was the most lovable dog and her tale was wagging it seemed nonstop. Stella made lots of progress in the 3 months we had her and she stole our hearts. She was a joy to be around and loved to be loved. We will miss her but know she is in a great home and will continue to have a wonderful life.

Stella has been with us for about 1 ½ months now and is so gentle and sweet. She continues to learn new commands such as sit. She was never treat motivated until just recently, I think from watching our resident dog eagerly accept treats.

She still becomes frightened by certain noises or if you approach her unexpectedly. She has never been destructive of anything except an occasional stuffed toy and has never had an accident in our home. No resource guarding.

Stella likes to be with her people and snuggles up to you whenever she can. When petted, just wants more. She loves the outdoors, especially rolling in the snow. She loves her daily 45 minute walks and stops to sniff many times along the way.

She shows no signs of aggression or interest when we pass another dog. She does pull when she sees a squirrel. Stella has learned to retrieve the tennis ball when thrown but doesn’t always bring it back and is always eager to play. Excited to see us when we come home and greets us at the door with tail wagging and patiently waiting to be petted and greeted.

A heart murmur was recently detected when she went in to be spayed. A follow up echocardiogram will be done to further assess this. Also, she has not been able to be spayed yet due to the Covid-19 restrictions on non essential surgeries.

She continues to have free roam with our resident dog with no problems at all. She is still timid around strangers but warms up readily once she is petted and shown affection. Loves to be loved! She is a real  sweetheart looking for her forever home with another confident dog to learn from and play with. She’s a beauty!

Stella came into RAGOM from a breeding facility to find her forever home. Her last litter of puppies was in Dec. 2019. She is 6 years old. She is scheduled to be spayed on March 19.

She is one of the sweetest dogs and just craves affection. She will lean in for more pets and will smother you with kisses. Her tail is wagging a mile a minute when being petted.

Stella is housebroken and has never had an accident. she paces when she needs to go out. Stella does not like crates and has had free roam in our house with no problems, even when we are away.

We take a 45 minute walk every day and Stella does really well on a leash with minimal pulling, except when she sees a squirrel, then will pull toward the squirrel. We keep walking and she easily redirects.

She has been around our young grandchildren and did just fine. She knows her name and comes when called.

When we first got her she would not go up or down stairs and was afraid to come through the door into the house. She now will go up and down the stairs with ease. She goes out the door into the yard, but needs coaxing to come in, so she still some anxiety about going through doorways. She is not motivated with dog treats and walks away from any treats I have offered her.

She frightens easily with unexpected noises, such as opening the curtains too quickly or if I accidently drop something, she runs and hides. Stella likes to follow me wherever I go. She sleeps in our bedroom on a dog bed or on the rug next to the bed.

Stella loves to run in our fenced yard and likes the snow. She gets along great with our resident dog and will sometimes share a dog bed together.

I introduced her to a bouncing tennis ball which she is intrigued with and chases, although she is not sure what to do with it once she gets it.

Also, she found a stuffed toy that she tosses around or carries in her mouth. She's a good retriever as she brings objects like shoes, a shirt, etc. to us or lays it in the middle of the living room floor. She has never chewed or damaged anything. It's not unusual to find a pile of shoes on the living room floor when we get home.

This beautiful girl is a gem with a gentle and sweet personality who is looking for her forever home with another confident dog. She will give you lots of love in return!
