Wow, how fast the time goes in the summertime. Another new chapter for our lovely girl. Updated news is, we discovered a mammary tumor on Callie which has now been removed. Best news, it was benign! Happy dance. She has healed up well, had some licking issues, but now we are all good.

All curled up from a long day

Now that is behind us and we had another nice grooming. She does enjoy those amazingly. All the noise, blowers, dogs, etc. she does quite well with. Surprising for “these” girls. So beautiful and soft. Callie has a wonderful coat and it's such a beautiful golden auburn. She does enjoy being brushed outside in the sun.

Just chilling out

We have also had yet another “friend” come and stay with us! We doggie sat Hallie 21-043 for a fellow RAGOM family while they went on vacation. They look like sisters!

She, too, is a commercial breeding girl. The two had a blast together. Each one complimented the other. They all have their quirks and I think the girls worked through them great.

Two beauties, Hallie and Callie!

Callie and Hallie searching for MORE lovin!

It is so amazing how Callie adjusts to these different circumstances and is so good at accepting them. Sure says a lot about her great personality. Our crazy senior cat runs into her when the cat is chasing her tail, and she's totally fine! Ha!

Callie (Stella) is such a diamond in the rough, and we love her so much. How very, very far this beautiful girl has come.

Beautiful girls!!!

Another short chapter on Callie (Stella). She is just an incredible Golden girl. Her personality is so “stellar”, showing off her gentleness, kindness and real beauty. Living what her Golden life should be!

Stella 21-062A
Wow, what a show girl!

She has had a new friend stay with us as well, another RAGOM foster we have for a couple weeks. Callie is really enjoying KeKe's company! SO cute to see these two girls hang out!

I think Callie enjoys another Golden around (versus a short, grumpy Corgi and very tall, crazy Doodle!). This has been a great time for her and all of us. Callie adjusted perfectly to the new girl.

CALLIE CHAPTER #4: Days with Callie are filled with happiness, gentleness and exploration. As each day goes by, she is getting more secure in checking out new things and seeking us out more. Ah, how she enjoys the fresh air outside and the cool grass as she watches the world go by.

The one thing that disturbs her is if my dogs and/or neighborhood dogs are barking. She does not care for that and comes inside. She seems fine hearing large planes fly overhead and heavy equipment running (we live in a newer area and there is a fair amount of that!).

We have not witnessed any storm anxiety or separation anxiety at all. We have mastered the sharing of food/treats well. Callie knows her limits and what she can do and not do. Zero problem with that with any of the three dogs. She has such an incredible demeanor.

We love to hear her happy “thumping” of the tail when we come back in from being gone or getting up in the morning. And oh, that cute cock of her head and perked ears! She loves her human(s).

We are still learning the walking “straight” thing yet, she Just needs more practice. She still weaves around but when she does go straight at a good pace, she is fine.

Please consider sponsoring our lovely girl. It means so much to the organization and rescue.

Callie is ready to meet her new forever home, so if you are interested in our dolly, please send in an Inquiry!

ANOTHER CHAPTER: Miss Callie girl is doing great. She is becoming even more relaxed around us and visitors. She does very well when our daughter, husband and 2 boys, who are 3 and 10, come over. **The boys do however, know how to act around our foster dogs. Be more quiet, no running around crazy or loud things.  It all goes very well and with these ‘rules’, Callie does enjoy their company. Watching them play or watch TV.

Callie much prefers the company of my doodle Bridger versus my corgi, Eddie. I think the bigger size of Bridger is a strong factor in that and corgi’s are just independent, more like a one-person dog. (short dog syndrome!)

When the dogs get a treat, all 3 are very mindful of the other one and we have never had a problem. Of course supervised! Callie has a VERY soft, golden retriever mouth. Barely feel her take a kibble or treat from my hand.

She is just the sweetest, loving girl!!!  “pure gold!”

Baby girl, so cute!

Ready to give a kiss and get MORE pets & loving!

THE NEXT CHAPTER:  Callie has now been spayed and is healing very well. Everything went well and it was obvious to the vet staff she has had plenty of puppies. Now we can move ahead with no new medicals to be done! This is an emotional part for these girls so of course a lot of TLC is given!

Callie is becoming so friendly, accepting as many kisses and pets I can give her. She affectionately licks me back. She “thumps” that tail of hers when we get closer to her, in hopes of that loving kiss/pet! She is also quite my partner in the kitchen when getting dinner or snacks ready for all of them.

Unfortunately between her spay and a week-long rain, we have not had any walks. We are looking forward to this week when we can resume those.

As far as car rides, Callie is fine. As is typical, she's not crazy about going “in”, but coming out is just fine. Once in she is very content, even going through a car wash! So we are really progressing with that.

After her first couple days here, she did not prefer the crate at all. She is totally ok with free roam. No accidents whatsoever. Zero issues leaving her for a few hours with the other guys.

Callie is now ready to find her final destination with a family who wants a very kind, sweet, loving and beautiful golden. Is that you? More later………………….  PLEASE CONSIDER SPONSORING CALLIE!!

Stella (Callie**) is a 6.5 year old golden retriever. She is a retired breeding girl. She is on the smaller side, 60 lbs., and lower to the ground. She has a beautiful golden-red coat.

She entered our home for foster care (3/21/21) which consists of 2 adults, 1 cat (senior) and 2 male dogs. One is a 12 yr. old corgi and the other is a 2.5 yr. old golden doodle (black & white).

Introductions went very well and current interactions are just great. She ignores the cat, and does just fine with our 2 boys. She follows the larger doodle for leadership more.

They all enjoy being outside with us. Our yard is fenced in with 6’ privacy and Callie will need to have a fenced yard as well for her safety.

Callie’s general disposition is calmer, more friendly than most breeding dogs usually are, and VERY sweet.

A little quirk of hers is when you come over to her to pet/love up, her tails just “thumps” away! So darn cute.

Callie is current on all vaccinations and her spay is scheduled for April 6th.

She has met our daughter, husband and 2 boys who are 3 ½ and 10 ½. Amazingly, she did quite well with them. The younger one just a little too busy at times, so a home without real young kids will be required for her.

She is a total sweetie!

**Foster's note: Stella was named before she came into RAGOM. The paperwork received did have the name of “Callie” for her, to which she responds. So we do call her Callie.
