Summer (Daisy 08-101)

Profile

Hi everyone. I would like to introduce Daisy. Isn't she a pretty girl? We only got her this morning and she has already stole our hearts. She is learning to be an indoor dog. She hasn't had any accidents and she has mastered the stairs. She is my husband's little stalker. She has velcroed herself to him and follows him everywhere. Although, she decided to glue herself to me when I was painting a wall and now she has a purple tail. Oh well, I hear purple hair is the new trend for girls.

She will have to visit the vet this week and get micro chipped and spayed before she can go to a new family. She was an outdoor dog but I don't think she will have any problems adjusting to being an indoor dog. She has a LOT of fur that will be shedding off the more she is indoors. She did very well with her bath and a ton of fur came off. She does well with our two dogs, she kind of ignores them. She leaves the little poodle alone and so I would think she would be OK with cats once she got to know them. She hasn't been around little kids and she does like to jump up, a bad habit we will have to work on. She knows sit and stay and she does like to play fetch. I will update you more as we get to know her.

From Summer's (fka Daisy) forever family...

Daisy took to her new name Summer as quickly as she adjusted to her new life. After only a week she started feeling at home and would show us her belly.

It was a wonderful week when I adopted her as it was the same week I met my future wife. Summer even somehow got into the wedding pictures, silly girl.

Summer and I moved to a happy house with a back yard and plenty of walking paths close to home.

We all watch TV together on the couch; she is quite the lap dog at 60 lbs.

We take her everywhere we go, and people are always drawn to her. They always say she is such a pretty girl.

We love her so much, we can't imagine life without her.

I am finally feeling better from that spay I had to have. The first night I laid on the bed with foster mom and cried and whined all night. Foster mom had the flu so she was laying right beside me whining and crying too. We just laid around for a couple of days and took it easy and now we are feeling better. We even went for a short walk yesterday. Foster mom only made it around the block before she got tired, she is kind of a wimp. I could have made it way further. I get my stitches out Wednesday and then I will be good as new.

I still ignore the other dogs here. As you can see in the picture, the other GR here does not share the toys. He doesn't like it when I steal one and carry it around, so guess what I do? Yep, I steal his favorite hedgehog and prance around right in front of him : ) That will teach him for not sharing.

I am going to have visitors come and see me on Saturday so I have to have another bath. I don't like baths but I do want to look my best and have nice soft shiny fur. I am cute and adorable so I think I can win them over. I have only been here for a couple of weeks and have my foster family wrapped around my paw : ) Wish me luck.
