Meet the "big man on campus"!! This is Summit and he made a long trip to Iowa from Missouri like a real trooper. And when I say big.......I mean TALL!! He is making a temporary stop in Iowa on his way to Minnesota to a wonderful foster home.

He was found as a stray in December by a wonderful woman who took him in and probably saved his life. He was skin and bones and had terrible ear infections. She put some weight on him and has been taking him to the vet to get his ears cleared up. The family just had too many dogs and she wanted Summit to find his forever home. We and Summit thank her for all she did!!

We have only had Summit for a few hours but he has been just great. He met our dogs with no problem and made himself right at home. He lets us know when he needs to go outside and walks great on a leash. He is not a youngster but we will have a better idea of his age after he visits the vet but he doesn't seem to have any major health issues that we can see.

Stay tuned for more information on this wonderful boy!

From Summit's forever family...

It is with great sadness that I do the last update on our sweet, sweet Summit. We helped our big boy to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. It had become apparent in the past few days that the bone cancer was causing Summit pain and anxiety. Since we made a promise to him that we would not let that happen we knew it was time to let him go. He was only in our lives for 5 months but it seems he has been part of our family forever. How he loved our 20 month old Grandson and always wanted to be near him when he visited. Makes me wonder, did he have his own little boy in his previous life? If so, did he wonder where that little boy went? How very sad.......

So, after a long walk in the park with dad we let Summit go to the place that would free him of pain and disease. How we will miss the big, goofy dog with the funny bark and how empty our house seems without his "largeness" sprawled out on the living room floor!! He really was a gentle giant. So, go sweet Summit and chase all those girls at the Rainbow Bridge cause we know how you like the ladies!! And when you find our girls, Bella (07-319) and Brooklyn (08-589), please give them kisses from us and take good care of them till we all meet up again. We love you and miss you Sum and you will always hold a very LARGE place in our hearts.

From Summit...

Happy Halloween everyone.....sorry, guess I am a little early. But the "family" decided it would be great fun to dress me up like a dragon or dinosaur or something!!! Woo Hoo.....what fun!! Whatever!

Just want everyone to know that I continue to do well!! Mom and dad could not be happier. Mom still gets down on the floor every night to give me kisses and tell me what a good boy I am. She always laughs when I try to roll over for her to pet my tummy. This ole boy doesn't really roll over very well but I give it my best try!!!

Oh, we got a "new girl" in the house and she comes from Missouri, my home state! Her name is Stella and she is quite a looker!! She is an older girl but she is as cute as they come. Everyone laughed when she first got here because I kept following her around with my tail wagging a hundred miles an hour!!! Hey, you know I love the ladies!!!

Mom is really sad that I cannot make it to the picnic like she had planned. She thinks it would be best for me to stay at home and not take any chances of getting hurt. So, everyone have a good time and know that I will be with you in spirit!!

Well, time for me to take a nap!! Kisses to all of you.

Just want to let everyone know that Summit is still doing well and send a couple recent pics. He still gets excited for his walks and is always happy to see me when I get home from work. We get on the floor each night and have some quality time just one on one, which involves lots of ear rubs and kisses. He loves it!!!

Over the past few months I have enjoyed writing updates for Summit and all his funny little escapades. However this is one update I do not enjoy. Summit has been limping a little for the past couple days and last night I noticed a painful lump on his front leg that was not there before. We quickly got him into the Dr. today and he has been diagnosed with bone cancer. They believe him to be in stage 4 of a very fast growing cancer. The sad prognosis is that he will be with us, at the most, just a few short months. But in those months you can rest assured that he will be loved and pampered each of his remaining days. A day will not pass in which he is not kissed, held and told how much we love him. We will keep him comfortable with pain medications and will be by his side when it is time to cross the bridge. This is one boy who has had to deal with so much in his life and yet he remains a sweet, loving dog. Please keep Summit in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey everyone, sorry it has been so long since my last update but I really have not been doing too much. Still waiting for my forever family to find me.....they must be lost!!! But I will wait..... I know they are out there somewhere!!!

I continue to do really well here at my foster home. They found out that when I have my "issue" with sleeping, it is due to being hot. I don't really dig it when the AC is off. But when it is, they have a fan on the dresser pointed at my bed and there is NO problem. I sleep like a baby!! Well, there is one other issue. I have my favorite bed and if the "old girl" is sleeping on it.... I stand over her and bug her till she moves to the other one. Then I lay down and it is lights out!!! Hey, we all have our little quirks!!!

The other night I got to go into the neighbor's yard and meet their dog, Dempsey. He is a cool dude. They say he is a boxer but that didn't seem right to me......he never tried to hit me once!! They should call him a dancer because all he did was jump and dance around me!!! I don't know who thinks of these names! He was giving me a good sniff on my back side and he almost got a "gift" deposited on his head! LOL LOL I must say, he moved pretty fast! There is no stopping the "call of nature"!!!!

The other night we had a storm roll through and Bailey, the old girl, got pretty shook up. Seems she just doesn't like that thunder. Heck, if it wasn't for her panting, pacing and shaking I wouldn't even of heard it. Mom thought I was really sweet cause I was trying to be close to her and give her kisses to let her know that I wouldn't let anything happen to her. She is my "best girl" so I gotta take care of her. She kind of acted like she appreciated it......so I know she was scared. She usually doesn't give me the time of day! Crazy dame!!!

Well, I guess that is about all for now. I attached another picture of myself sleeping. That is about all I do if I am not eating or on a walk. But hey, I think I am pretty darn cute when I am sleeping so what the heck!! So, I will continue to wait for my family to find me. We all get along really great here so I am happy. Please contact placement if you would like to talk to mom about me.

Summit is doing what Summit does best......sleeping, so I thought I would do a quick update.

I am rather surprised that the big guy is still in our foster care. He is the most low maintenance foster that we have ever had and he really does not require anything other than food, attention and daily walks. Nothing gets him upset although he does get excited when people and dogs walk by the house but only because he wants to go see them. He walks like a real gentleman on a leash....never pulls or acts up. He does not require a fence like I first thought. He goes out on a tie and never pulls while on it. He would welcome a fur brother or sister, but he would be fine as an "only child". I really cannot say anything negative about this boy. Oh, maybe that if left out too long and he can find dirt.....he will dig a little to make a nice bed!!! But, that is the only bad habit I have seen.

If you are someone that wants a great dog to walk and keep you company, this guy is it. The don't come any sweeter or gentler. Please contact placement and we can talk!!

Is everyone on vacation?? I cannot believe my forever family has not come for me!!! Mom tells me I have to be patient for the perfect family, but honestly.......how long can a guy wait? You know you want an easy going guy who loves every 4 legged and 2 legged person he meets. That is ME!!

I have not been doing too much lately. Too dang hot!! Just hanging out with my resident brother and sister trying to stay cool. Well..... I am always cool so I should say trying to beat the heat!

I went to the picnic last weekend and had a good time. The other dogs tried to get me to jump in the pool but I opted to lay under the tree in the shade!! And yes, I had to "turn up the dirt" a little to get to the cooler stuff. Mom was mad at me but the very nice man and lady who lived there were not. They said they have diggers living with them, so it was no big deal. Jeeze, she needs to take some lessons from those people!! Tried as I might, I didn't find Mrs. Right. Oh, they all did a lot of sniffing but then played hard to get. Women!!!! As you can see from the picture, laying around all day is hard work so I was really pooped on the way home!!! Stood the whole way down (well, I was excited) and slept the whole way home!!!

I went to the vet last week and he said my ear is clearing up nicely. Not as quickly as the doc would like so he gave me some pills to help the process. CRACK ME UP!!! Dad thought he could fool me with putting it in cheese but I showed him. Rolled it around in my mouth a little to get the cheese off and then spit the pill on the floor!!! So then he put it in cheese again and held my mouth shut till I swallowed it. I am not sure but I think that could be considered abuse!!! What do you think?

Well, I guess I will continue to wait for my family but please don't take too long. I love it here and my mom and dad love me to pieces, but I am ready to start the new chapter in my life where I go to my forever home. Who needs a "big lug" to complete their family????

TTFN

No, you go ahead and swim....
I will just wait here in the shade!

Wake me up when we get home.
I'm exhausted!

Have you heard the news? I have sponsors!! Thank you Teresa & John S. for your help with my medical bills!! You are "rock stars" and I hope that I get to meet you in person some day so I can thank you with a big, sloppy kiss. Oh wait, I don't really give big, sloppy kisses but........well, I could let you pet me!!! I am good at letting people pet me!! How does that sound?!? I gotta love you people that give so much to us fosters and ask nothing in return!! You are a special breed.....kind of like us Goldens!!!

I went to the vet today because this dang ear is still bothering me and man did I hit it big. There were 2 girl dogs at the vet that I got to say hi to!! Well, maybe one wasn't so hot. She was a short, stocky little girl with a really bad under-bite and a squished in face but she had a great personality!! And talk about an owner and their dog looking the same.....WOW!!! It was kind of scary!! I could tell they were both "taken" by me but I didn't get a chance to get their names. Well, better luck next time!! Oh yeah....the ear. Well, the doc gave me some different medicine to put in my ear and took a little blood to check something called a Thyroid. He said sometimes if the Thyroid is not quite right it can cause skin problems and that ears are considered skin. But, I heard mom saying my Thyroid was in the normal range. So, we are going to try this and see how it works.

Other than that, things are great. I hear that I get to go to a RAGOM picnic this Saturday. Mom said there will be lots of nice people and their dogs to meet. Great, another chance to find "Mrs. Right"!!! Better make sure I have a new notebook to take down some names and numbers!!!! I will let you know how it goes next time I write!!

Well, better sign off for now. Thanks again Teresa and John for your help!!!

Ok, you distract Gramma & I will knock down the gate on the deck.
She'll never catch us both!!

Hey all! Summit man here! Just when things settled down from the 3 puppies....we get a TWO legged one!! And this two legged one loves to give kisses! I gotta say that he is quite the boy. He is dog savvy so he knows how to pet nicely and not pinch or pull and I really appreciate that. Another good thing is he likes to throw food from his highchair to the dogs so we all make a beeline when we see him going in that chair!! Mom says I have been just great with the little man. I let him do whatever he wants and I don't get mad. In fact I follow him around and lay in his room when mom is rocking him to sleep. I had to keep an eye on mom when she was tickling him as I wanted to make sure she wasn't hurting him.....the way he was screaming you would have thought she was but I guess that is how you humans play!

OK, just one more kiss!

A little to the left, little higher....yeah, that's the spot!

Again with the kisses!!! Geeeeeze!!

I am still doing great and cannot believe someone has not stepped up to make me part of their home! You are not going to get an easier dog than me to take care of and I love to give/get attention. I have no special needs other than a soft bed to call mine. Don't let that whole stomach thing scare you away because the "good doc" made sure that won't happen again. I get along with all the dogs I meet and I even got my "talking" under control!

Please contact placement if you would like to learn more about me. I love where I am at but would love to have a forever home even more!

Hey everyone.....remember me? Sorry it has been so long since I wrote but we have been busy with THREE foster puppies!!! Mom & dad say they are the cutest puppies ever (of course they never saw ME when I was a puppy) but they are wearing them out!!! And we have had so many visitors coming to see the little runts. I don't see what all the fuss is, but Mom says we did a good thing by bringing them to RAGOM. Seems the man had an ad in the paper and was just giving them away and we all know that that doesn't always lead to a good ending. People cannot refuse a free puppy but forget that we don't STAY a puppy......we grow up into a big dog that needs attention, care, vet visits and food. LOTS of food. And these things take money that people didn't think about when we were little. That is when the "not so good ending" sometimes comes into play. Thank goodness for places like RAGOM that will help out!

Mom says I have become a great house guest. I am the first one to bed and the last one to get up. Some days I want to stay in bed and forget about breakfast but they won't let me. Geeze, I don't know why they can't lighten up on the rules around here!! They have let me stay in the yard a little more these days so I guess they are not that bad.

Mom was a little ticked at me the other day as I slipped past her at the door and thought I would take a tour of the neighborhood on my own. And yes, I heard her calling my name but pretended I didn't. My downfall was the yard belonging to another male dog.... I just couldn't resist sniffing and leaving my mark. THAT is where she got me!! And mom limped all the way home due to pulling some kind of muscle in her.........let's just say it involves the part that she sits on!!! LOL....snort, snort! She said she is too old and out of shape to be running after a dog but it was a HOOT!!!

I have sent a couple pictures of myself with the puppies. One thought I was its mom and kept looking at my belly for something and one of them thought my tail was some kind of toy. I was very patient with them and mom said it just confirmed her belief that I wouldn't hurt a fly. They are going to their permanent foster homes tomorrow and then the house will be back to normal. Whatever normal is.....

Ta Ta for now!!!

Ok, could someone make him let go?
A little help please.

I told you I am not your mom...
let go of that!

Hey, hey!  The new and improved Summit here!  Went to the vet today and the tube is gone.  I must say that I was the picture of "macho" when the doctor pulled it out.  Not a whimper or a flinch!  Sometimes I even surprise myself!

I am now ready for my forever home!  Who out there is looking for a big, laid back boy to make their house complete?  Mom says she can see me with some big ol' burly guy who wants a buddy to ride around with him in his pick-up while he runs errands.  I'll lay out on the driveway while he tinkers with his truck and then at the end of the day, snuggle up next to him in bed.  I don't know if there is anybody out there like that looking for a dog but if so...HERE I AM!!!

I am still sleeping through the night and I even come back in the house when mom and dad call me.  I continue say hello to everyone that passes the house and love to meet all the dogs on my walks.  There is one little apricot poodle that lives down the street and we really like to talk to each other.  But if her brother happens to be out when I go by...well, I cannot repeat the things he says to me.  Guess he doesn't think I am quite right for his little sister.  Whatever.  He isn't that smart anyway because he is not a GOLDEN!

Well, keep following my story!  To start the process to adopt (and become an approved applicant), check out the "Adoption" section of our website or contact placement (if you've already been approved) to learn more about me.  If you don't, you don't know what you are missing out on!!!

No clothes, no tubes.....life is good!!!
No clothes, no tubes...life is good!!!

Well, I see that my boy was busy typing while I was gone over the weekend. What a big goof he is!!

He is doing sooooooooooooo much better!!! He has been sleeping through the night just like he did when he first came. No more pacing and whining!! Ya hoo!!!! I feel bad that he cannot sleep in the yard any more but if he does that, he wants to sleep out there at night also. Summit is such an easy dog to have around. He loves to go for walks and is a fantastic walker as he does not pull at all. He loves to meet and greet every person and dog that he meets. He met some nice people at the ball park the other night and when they stopped petting him to go play their game he would not move. They thought it was so funny the way he planted his feet and would not budge. You can pull and pull but he will NOT move but if you take his collar and give a gentle pull, he is back on the move. He is a stubborn one!!!

In my dreams I am under the shade tree!

He is definitely a people dog. He gets along good with other dogs but I don't really see any interest in playing with them. But, with the right dog, that could change. I have to remember that we don't have any resident dogs that really like to playfully interact with other dogs.

Well, we will update again after Summit's visit to the vet on Thursday when they take the tube out. We will all be glad to see that day come!

Oh come on....you have room in your lap for me!!

Sunday, May 17, 2009

What a beautiful Sunday!! Thought I would do an update before the grass drys out and I go out to do some sun bathing!!

Things are going pretty good here in Iowa. I am feeling much better although I went to the vet last week to find out that I have a "rip roaring" ear infection. Mom noticed my one ear was hanging kind of funny and there was a nasty discharge in it. Seems it is a staff infection and the Dr. gave her some medicine to squirt in it 2 times a day. I am catching on to the schedule and know what the bottle looks like so I try to high tail it when I see FM coming, but that rascally dad always heads me off!! The Dr. will look at it this week when I go in to have my staples out and see if the medicine is doing its job.

We are babysitting this weekend and as you can see by the picture, it was a FULL HOUSE!! Had to share my pizza crust with all those dogs. We had Mandy, 07-170, and Sam, 08-436, while the FM & FD went camping but then they brought Harley, 09-035, as he was not really digging the whole camping scene and Sam went with them. We have been getting along great and that Harley is a character. He loves to give me kisses!! I thought about taking him aside and explaining that it is not good for my "macho" image for him to kiss me but figured I could live with it for a couple days. Plus, I thought it might show that foxy resident girl my "softer side". :o)

Well, as you can see, I have been busy with the landscaping again. Seems mom and I just cannot agree on this subject. I say that spot was just perfect for a doggy bed but she thought otherwise! And she really had a fit when I did it again after the rain!! She actually made me stand in the front yard and put my feet in a bowl of water. What does a little mud under the toenails hurt? Isn't that what a rug cleaner is for? Now every time I head that direction she is at the door to holler at me. Fun hater!!

Well, I think it is time to hit the yard! I am still waiting for that special family that is looking for a low maintenance dog that can help whip their yard into shape. I could be YOUR man!!!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Mom is busy doing laundry so I thought I would sneak up and do my own update again. Check out my new "threads"!!! Good bye t-shirts and TANK TOPS because this is what every well dressed dog in Iowa is wearing!! Big sloppy kisses to you Connie....you are my HERO!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Every girl's crazy bout a sharp-dressed man!!

Now this is more my style!!

I have been doing really well the last couple days. I have learned to sleep on a doggy bed during the day and at night and I have to tell you, it beats the hard floor. Bailey, the feisty old golden girl, gets her nose a little out of joint if I am on the bed that she wants but I am hoping that maybe one of these days she will cuddle up next to me. ;o)

I get my stitches out next week and then a week later get the tube out. Mom tells me it isn't going to hurt and that I must be brave! Yeah, we will see!!

Mom has a couple more pics to send but she said she is going to save them for my next update. She says I really have to learn to leave the landscaping to her. Don't know why, I think I do a heck of a job!!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Since Mr. Summit did sooo much complaining on the last update, I will do this one!! He is doing really good. We have stopped the pain meds without any problem and he continues to eat well. He spent the WHOLE DAY on Mother's day sleeping in my mom's yard!! And when he had to come in it was like playing tug-o-war with a brick wall!! Just a warning to anyone interested in Summit....he is stubborn. When he doesn't want to do something, it can be a struggle. He is in NO WAY mean but he plants his big ole feet in the ground and the fight is on!!!

We had some issues last night when we turned out the lights to go to bed. He started panting and shaking but he had been given a pain pill so I knew it wasn't pain related. He followed us up to bed and this continued. We brought the dog bed from the living room and laid it down by our bed and within a few minutes he was down and sleeping. We didn't hear a peep out of him until about 5:00 and with a couple pets and a quiet "lay down" he layed back down and was the last one up at 6:30. I have talked to the Dr. and he agrees with me....... big, tough Summit has a little separation anxiety. We didn't have this problem before surgery so maybe the trauma of surgery and being kenneled for a couple days has him a little out of sorts. I am sure he will settle back into the routine in a few days!!

I know that Summit would say it has something to do with being forced to wear women's clothing, but I don't believe that is the case. ;0) He will be surprised this week because one of RAGOM's "angels" is sending him a coat that was made just for him and he can lose the t-shirts and tank tops!! The generosity of people never ceases to amaze me and I want to thank Connie so much for her gift to Summit. In a few days, Summit will be "struttin' his stuff"!!!

A few things that I have learned about a good forever home:

If you are looking for a dog to play with, run with, wrestle with... Summit is not your guy. Although he does like to jog a little he doesn't play with balls, toys or anything else. If you try to wrestle and play with him, he doesn't get it.

He really needs a fenced in yard (wooden would be best) because he loves to be outside but he will bark at everything he sees. A wooden one might shield his vision a little more than chain link. Also, he will take off if given a chance. He is very interested in rabbits and squirrels.

Another dog is not necessary as he doesn't seem to have much interest in them and I think kids of all ages would be fine around him.

But, if you are looking for a low maintenance dog to lay on the porch while you read the paper, or go on a leisurely walk with you or a big ole goof who loves to stand in front of you with his head resting in your lap while you pet it, this could be your guy.

Oh, and as you can see by the pictures, he does a wonderful job of landscaping!!! :0)

I can't believe I didn't find this cushy spot sooner!

The aftermath...

Sunday, May 10, 2009

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Guess who?? Yep, it is me....Summit. Mom said I could have a couple minutes to send in an update and then it is nap time. What a party pooper!! I am doing pretty good. Still moving a little slow.....oh wait, that is how I ALWAYS move!! Well, maybe a little slooooower!

Mom is making me wear these really lame shirts and it does not make me real happy. I am a dog and REAL dogs don't wear clothes. I kept trying to pull my legs out of the t-shirt sleeve so mom found me one of her tank tops so the sleeves wouldn't bother me. There are only two things in a male dogs life that can totally strip away his manhood...... getting neutered and wearing a woman's tank top!!! And it has STARS on it, no less. Actually she said it is to keep me away from the staples on my tummy and also to catch the drainage from my stomach tube and incision. So like it or not, I guess I will be wearing them for a little while.

Man, I hope nobody can see me!

If I lay with my back to the road,
maybe they won't know that I am a BOY!!

Well, I didn't have a real good night last night. Seems my pain meds are not staying with me long enough and I found my self pacing, panting and shaking. Mom talked to the Dr. at 11:00 last night and he said I could have another one. When she finally got me to lay down she slept on the floor with her arm around me till I was sound asleep. Dad even came down and laid with me for awhile. At one point she woke up and panicked as she could not feel me breathing and feared I had gone to some bridge. That is dumb because the only bridge I have seen around here is at the park and I obviously was NOT at the park. Oh well, once she realized I was still breathing we got back to sleeping. I was up at it again at 4:00 this morning so she gave me some more medicine and got back down on the floor with me. So far this morning I have been doing pretty good. I layed out in the grass for a long time napping (crazy tank top and all) and that was great.

I am eating pretty good and the great part is I get some stinky, wet dog good. I get a little bit 5-6 times a day. Doc doesn't want me to have too much food in my tummy at one time. In a few days I have to start having some dry food put in it and then back to dry food. Guess I better take advantage of this yummy stuff while I can!

Well, gotta run. Guess we are going to Grandma's house today. Mom and dad don't want to leave me at home....they want to keep an eye on me. Man, what worry warts! So, everyone have a great day and I will let you know in a couple days how I am doing!!!

Friday, May 8, 2009

Another quick update on our big boy. We went to visit him and he is doing great. He got to go outside to "relieve" himself and after all the fluids he has gotten........it was a BIG relief. He is still a little unsteady due to the pain meds but was happy to see us. We could tell he wanted to leave with us but they are keeping him one more night. :0(

The Dr. said his temperature and vitals are good and the drainage tube is doing just what it is supposed to. So, I think our gentle giant is going to be just fine. It was a scary situation and I would just tell everyone not to be afraid to take their dog to the vet when things just don't seem right. What we thought was just anxiety was something that potentially could have taken his life. We were lucky and thankfully due to a quick surgery Summit will not have to worry about this happening again.

I am sure that this was not an inexpensive procedure so if you are reading this and would like to sponsor Summit, or any of our other special dogs, please contact RAGOM. Your support is always welcomed and appreciated.

Continue to keep this boy in your thoughts and prayers and we will update again after he is home where he belongs.

Hi everyone...Summit here. FM said I could write my own update so here it goes:

Seems I am NOT going to be moving from Iowa to be fostered. Since the grouchy resident chow mix thinks I am OK, foster mom says I am welcome to hang out with them while I wait for my forever family. That makes me happy because they also have a good looking senior female golden that thinks I am the BOMB!!!! She plays hard to get but I see her wagging her tail at me!!!

I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said I am in great shape! I weighed in at 64 pounds and he said I could gain a little more but not much. When my previous mom found me walking the country roads last winter, I only weighed 53 pounds so she did a great job of getting me fattened up!! He was not sure of my age (and I ain't telling) so he would only say that I was at least 5. Seems when you are a stray it is really hard to get an exact age. They look at teeth but if nobody in your previous life took care of them it is hard to be real accurate. FM says she has spent alot of time with seniors dogs and she is pretty sure I am older than 5 so we are going to go with 8. That works for me.

As you can see from my pics I am a very tall boy but I am a lover. FM doesn't think there is anything that would get me "riled up". I do like to say hello to the people and dogs as they pass our house and sometimes I just like to say hello to.......nothing at all. You see I have the most awesome bark ever!! It is soft and raspy and kind of like a hound dog. Mom and dad say it is funny but that I cannot bark all the time. Something to do with the neighbors. Not sure who they are but I'll bet they like to hear me talk!!!

Oh, I see some people coming down the street right now! I will write more later but right now I have to go and tell them hello!!! If you have room in your house for a big, goofy boy please email RAGOM placement right now and we can talk!!! I love to talk!!!

Walk please? How can you say no to this face?

My eyes are closed...you can't see me!
