Suzie has been busy the past two weeks meeting new people, dogs, and even a cat. Yes, she passed the "cat test" with flying colors! Hooray! She met our neighbors cat, sniffed noses and didn't bat an eye. Then Suzie turned her head and said hello to the dogs! I don't think she would have any problem at all living with cats. The RAGOM event at PetCo last weekend was fun! We stayed longer than planned because Suzie was doing so well. She was very relaxed having our dog Robbie by her side while she met new families and dogs. She was shy but gentle and a perfect little lady.A potential adopter came out with her dog to meet Suzie this week but her dog wasn't interested in playing with our frisky little puppy mill girl! Suzie needs an active resident dog who wants to play and run with her. She loves every dog she meets, but needs one who will not tire of her "puppy play". One of Suzie's favorite playmates is her sponsor Sara-Lynn's 7 month old Golden named Morgan. Morgan and her brother Bailey came over to play last night and the dogs were thoroughly exhausted after a couple hours of running and playing. Sara-Lynn and her dogs have been to our house several times to see Suzie and have remarked how much she has come out of her shell since their first visit. Suzie came right up to Sara-Lynn for attention last night and is no longer shy around her. Many thanks again to Sara-Lynn and her family for sponsoring Suzie. It has been fun getting to know them and we also appreciate their donation to Suzie's medical bills. Suzie continues to be a wonderful addition to our family but she needs to find a forever home of her own where she can continue to be loved. Suzie is really coming out of her puppy mill shell! She nudges our hands for attention, follows us around, and comes to us to get leashed for a walk. She bravely meets new neighbors. She will travel to a pet store for her next adventure!
Our little blonde girl is experiencing her second childhood, or should I say the childhood she never had. She plays with stuffed toys, digs holes, and tries to grab things from the table. Once I found a t-shirt and socks in her crate! She also beheaded a toy moose and hid it inside the cushions of the couch! Suzie is not ready for free roam of the house because she is still too inquisitive for her own good!
Suzie knows the words “walk”, “kennel”, and “come”. She travels nicely in the car and walks beautifully with a Gentle Leader. She needs a family who will be patient with her as she continues to gain confidence and learn new things.
Two new doggie friends came to visit her this week for a play date. Bishop and Cinder had fun running, chasing, and wrestling with Suzie and our two resident dogs. Suzie gave her new friends kisses and romped and played all evening. She will definitely need a friendly resident dog in her new home.
Suzie’s spay stitches were removed and she is ready to meet adoptive families. She will be at the Eden Prairie PetCo on May 12 from 11am- Noon. This RAGOM event will be at: 8020 Glen Lane, Eden Prairie, MN.

Hi everyone! It’s Suzie here in Golden Valley enjoying the “Golden Life”! I sure love this nice weather! I’m having fun playing outside and hanging out with my foster family! Sometimes I like to lie on the grass while I chew on a ball and watch the clouds in the sky. Life is good!
My sponsors- Sara-Lynn, Dan, and Caitlin came over to visit me twice and brought their dogs Morgan and Bailey. We had a blast and I really liked them! Look at the cute picture of me with Caitlin and Sara-Lynn. Thank you so much for sponsoring me and helping with my doctors bills!
Speaking of doctors, I went to the doctor on Saturday and had surgery. I was treated like a queen at Westonka Animal Hospital! Everyone said I was really sweet. Many thanks to Dr. Jackie and her U of MN senior vet school students, Karin, Jenny, and Cassie, who performed my surgery. My tummy stitches look perfect and I am feeling very perky! They also cleaned my teeth and now they are pearly white!
My foster mom has been taking me out for walks and I have been really brave meeting our neighbors. They are nice! The little kids are cute but kind of loud and make me nervous. I told mom I would like to live with grownups and maybe older kids. Mom and Dad have been talking about what kind of home would be perfect for me and said I’m ready to start meeting families. They said there is a really special family out there who will love me as much as they do. If you have a quiet, loving home without small children and have a fenced yard and a friendly dog, E-mail placement
ragom [dot] org and ask to come over and meet me. My foster mentor Robbie, the Golden Retriever, will be conducting the interview!
Have a good day and thanks to all our RAGOM sponsors and friends everywhere!
Love, Suzie

Suzie getting to know her sponsors: Caitlin and Sara-Lynn
Saturday, April 14, 2007
Greetings from Golden Valley!
Suzie and our family would like to thank her sponsor, Sara-Lynn, for her support. We are very excited because we get to meet Sara-Lynn, her daughter and one of their dogs this weekend! I know she will love Suzie as much as we do. Sara-Lynn will get to see first hand how very sweet these puppy mill dogs can be after just three weeks of love, affection, and life in a real home!
Fostering Suzie has been a very rewarding experience! Every day brings something new and exciting as we watch her discover the world around her. We have seen so many positive changes in her over a short time that we are very sure that with the right adoptive home she will continue to grow into a happy, sweet, and devoted friend.
Suzie has become more playful each day. She loves to play tug of war and chase our dogs around the yard! She watched while our dog Robbie tried to get a “whole body rub” by going in and out of my legs and then she did the same thing! She is becoming quite the little clown with her silly antics! She ran up our hill in the backyard, dropped her tennis ball, and then went flying down the hill after it! Then she flipped over on her back and stuck her legs high in the air and wiggled like a fish out of water! Suzie is also a very smart girl and learns quickly! She already knows how to play fetch and will even drop the ball and wait for us to throw it again! Maybe she can teach our dogs a thing or two!
The weather has been perfect for long walks and Suzie loves them! I take Robbie along to teach her how to heel and make her feel more secure. She trots along right by his side and looks with wonder at everything we pass by! Every now and then she will turn to Robbie and give him a quick kiss. She is “twitterpated” with her new Romeo!
When it comes to being a Velcro lass, Suzie is A++. She loves to snuggle and be petted. It’s hard to believe that just three weeks ago she was tense just being near us! It won’t belong before she forgets her old life and becomes the kind of dog that she was meant to be!
On April 21 Suzie will be spayed and get her teeth cleaned. She will need to take it easy for about a week and then she will be ready to meet prospective families! We are very excited for Suzie to find the perfect forever family so they will have the privilege to watch her develop and change as we have. Suzie should have a home with another dog so she can continue to learn. She should also have a fenced yard, preferably with no landscape rocks because she thinks they are fun to eat! If you would like to meet our sweet princess Suzie please contact placement

Hi!
My name is Suzie and I am a rescued Golden Retriever who has just begun to live the Golden life that I have always dreamed about! Many thanks to RAGOM and lots of wonderful people that helped me and my 12 puppies get out of our cold, dark, dirty concrete room at the puppy mill. I have lived there all my life and this is the first time I have ever lived in a house and slept on a real dog bed at night! I heard that my babies are happy and safe in foster homes all over Minnesota and Iowa. They are being good little boys and girls. I have 5 boys and 7 girls. You can read about my babies on the RAGOM website too! Their RAGOM numbers are 07-138 through 07-149: Keswick, Joliet, Irish, Ollie, Jasmine, Scotch, Levi, Anastasia, Harley, Zoe, Kida and Cody. My puppies are all beautiful, don't you think? Anastasia looks the most like me! It was a lot of work taking care of so many babies at once, but I sure miss my kids. I know they are having fun and getting lots of love, so that makes me very happy! Tell their foster families that I send my
babies lots of kisses and hope they each find the perfect forever home!
I took a peek at my website today on foster mom's computer and I saw that I have a sponsor: Sara-Lynn! Wow! Thank you Sara-Lynn! I will keep you updated on my new life as a RAGOM dog!
On Tuesday, my foster dad took the day off work to be with me all day long. I learned what toys are and had so much fun! This is the most fun I've had in my whole life! I got to run around with stuffed animals in my mouth and even throw them into the air! I got to roll on my back on REAL GRASS! I've never done that before! It felt great! I had fresh water and good food. This is the life!
On Wednesday, foster mom and dad went to work and I just slept all day long like Robbie and Katie do. But that night we got to play, play, play and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle! I am really starting to like people! I have lived my whole life with dogs, so it will take me a while to feel safe around humans. My foster mom and dad speak gently to me and try not to startle me, so that helps a lot! I am still too scared to go down the steps, but I will learn to overcome my fears "one paw step at a time" foster mom said.
Today is Thursday and guess what I got? A tennis ball- my very own tennis ball! I showed foster mom how talented I am and threw it up in the air. Mom laughed and laughed! I watched while my fur siblings ran fast to get their tennis balls, but I am still a little too scared to try that. Maybe next week! I sure love having a fenced in yard where I can play safely and enjoy Spring!
I went to the vet this week and was really scared! I've never been in a doctor's office before. It smelled weird! I hid my face in the corner and hoped the doctor didn't notice me, but she did. I had to get some shots. Ouch! I'm glad that Sara-Lynn is sponsoring me because I am going to have more doctor's bills. I have to get spayed and get my teeth cleaned. The doctor thinks I am 4 years old and have had lots of babies. I kind of lost track of the count because all I ever did at the puppy mill was give birth and take care of babies. Gosh, have things changed for me! Thank you
RAGOM for giving me and my kids a new life!
Well, I had a big day today and need to go find my nice comfy dog bed now!
Goodnight friends!
Love, Suzie
