Tamara has been with me for a few weeks now, so she is settling in.
She enjoys playing fetch with her purple squeaky ball and her red squeaky ball. She also likes playing with and chewing on her big red Jolly Ball on a Rope.
She walks pretty well on a leash. She might need a 5-foot fence, as she will leap at the fence when chasing after birds and squirrels. If the fence was only 4 feet high, I am afraid that she might just hop right over it. Tamara is an athletic young dog.
Tarama should not live with cats, as she stalks my cat and I have to keep them separated.
Tarama does great with other dogs, though. She wants to play with them and seems kind of submissive with dogs her own size or larger. She also loves all the people that she has met.
Tarma is anxious and barks when fireworks are going off, and she feels the same way about noisy thunderstorms.
Tamara has to be watched in the house, as she will steal anything off the kitchen counter that she can get at, and she will shred many paper products, like paper towels. That seems to be mostly puppy-type behavior that I hope she will grow out of.
Tamara went to the vet recently. She is heartworm-negative, so that is good. No parasites either. Tamara was found to have a urinary tract infection that we are currently treating with antibiotics. She did come in with a wound on her neck which the vet cleaned and closed up with stitches. Her neck is looking a lot better now.
Here are a couple shots of Tamara rolling around in the grass in the morning.

Tamara is a sweet 20-month-old female Golden Retriever from Turkey. She is small in stature and seems to have a sweet and gentle nature. Tarmara is excited to begin her new life as an American dog, as she has heard that life can be a lot of fun for pups here in the USA.
Tamara has the energy levels typical of any young retriever, and she will pick up items to mouth (like throw pillows), but she hasn't destroyed anything yet. I need to keep an eye on her to keep some items out of her reach. She is technically still a puppy!
Tamara is said to get along well with other dogs. She does bark at my cat, so she might not do so well living peacefully with a cat. We will see how that develops after Tamara gets more comfortable living here.
I will update everyone as Tamara and I get better acquainted. If you've been looking for a cute, sweet, friendly Golden Retriever pup, Tamara might be the one for you.
