Tanner 07-498

Profile

Tanner is a 14 week old Golden/Lab/Malamute mix who looks like a Yellow Lab.  He made the long trip from a farm in Iowa to his foster home in Lakeville, MN on 8/26/07. When he arrived he was a little smelly, covered with tics and had a few fleas too. After a good bath and flea /tic treatment they are a thing of the past. Tanner had an appointment with the vet today and pending his fecal test results is believed to be in perfect health.

Tanner adjusted very quickly to his foster home.  He ignores cats and is a very playful, affectionate and confident dog. Just after 24 hours he acts likes he's lived here all his life.

While I cannot say that Tanner is house broken, because he was a farm dog until yesterday, he has not had a single accident in the house. When he is let outside he quickly sniffs around and does his business and then wants to play. Maybe he is following the lead of the other dogs? Either way, I am extremely pleased with him in this area. We have been using positive motivation in hopes his good habits will continue.

Tanner has only been in foster care for only a little more than a day, but my gut feeling is that he is young enough to adjust and do well in nearly any home environment.

More to come as I get to know this little guy better.

An update from Tanner's Forever Home.......

We have had Tanner for almost a year and a half - Wow! How time flies by!!! Tanner has an older dog-sister and they are the very best of friends! Tanner is a cuddly, gentle dog that is very spoiled and always very happy. It is always an adventure in our house with two dogs, but we wouldn't want it any other way!

Here are a couple of photos. The first photo is Tanner sitting on the bench under our apple trees on a cool fall day and the second photo is of Tanner and his sister Guinness on our Christmas rug.

Thank you RAGOM for all that you do for these great dogs! Tanner has brought extra love and happiness to our family and it's fun to see other similar happy endings!
