Tasha 12-317

I would like to welcome Tasha 12-317 to RAGOM. She is approximately 1 ½ years old, about 50lbs. She is spayed and up to date on immunizations. She is being fostered in Cottage Grove MN.

Tasha is a complete sweetheart! She loves everyone she meets, including cats and children. Tasha is a confident, happy dog that would love a daily walk or run and a fenced yard to play in. She loves rolling in the grass and playing with a squeaky toy. She has spent a lot of time this past week trying to get my resident dog to play with her.

Tasha has a very short, low maintenance coat. She is potty trained and has free roam of my house. We are working on walking on a Gentle Leader because she pulls too much with a regular leash. Tasha met my two year old Granddaughter and greeted her with kisses. She is a young energetic dog that would love someone to cuddle with at the end of the day!

Tasha has been with us for over four weeks now and she has settled in nicely. She is no longer eating like she is starving to death. This past week we gave her a bath, she is so soft and silky now. We also trimmed her nails and cleaned her ears. The nice thing about her nails is they are light colored so you can see how far back you can trim them. We are working on getting her to sit so we can wipe her paws when she comes in the house.

Last Wednesday I wasn’t able to come home at lunchtime, so the dogs were home alone 8 hours, there were no messes when I got home J

Funny and cute things about Tasha-

  • She runs in her sleep.
  • She moans and groans when she is enjoying affection.
  • She snores a little bit.
  • She sleeps with the cat.

Naughty things she’s done-

  • She’s dug a few little holes in the yard.
  • She pushes through doors.
  • She chewed a hole in rubber garden shoes.

Overall Tasha is an awesome dog, if she gets a walk or some running and playing in the yard she is very well behaved. I think for being very young she is so good! My 2 year old granddaughter was over, we had toys and stuffed animals all over the floor, she was curious but seemed to know not to pick them up!

More about Tasha…

We are having a lot of fun fostering Tasha, her playfulness is keeping us entertained! She is so much cuter in person than in her pictures.

Tasha came from a shelter in South Dakota, where she was left because her owner had too many pets. Tasha would love another dog to play with but I think she would be ok as an only dog if she got enough attention and exercise. She is very treat motivated and it would be great if someone would take her to obedience training. Tasha respects the baby gates we have up, she shows no signs of resource guarding, if she is being naughty and you tell her to stop she will listen. Tasha has great recall, even when she is playing in the yard, if I call her name she will come bouncing into the house for a treat! She is very excitable, but calms down quickly. Tasha is more of a sprinter than a marathoner, she has bouts of high energy but she tires out quickly. My daughter took her rollerblading and she enjoyed that, we are still working on leash training.

Tasha is ready for her forever home, could it be with you?
