Teddy 06-208

Profile

5/7/06: I am proud to announce that Mr. Teddy has made it to Apple Valley along with his 4 other brothers. Teddy a little over 6 weeks old and will be ready to go to his forever home over Memorial Day weekend. However, he would LOVE to start meeting potential homes right away.

What we know about Teddy is limited. We were told both parents are purebred Goldens, but the litter was unplanned and they don't want the puppies. Therefore, he was turned over to a shelter on Saturday afternoon, he was processed and then given to RAGOM since he is so young and needed a lot of love and a germ free environment to get him through the trauma of being taken away from mom so early. So RAGOM did not allow Teddy or his brothers to stay any longer than they had to! The next stop would be to Aunt Steffanie?s house ? she was good enough to keep them Saturday night so my family could take a much needed night off from all dogs, we did not even bring the Newfoundland?s on our overnight excursion.

Of course by the time Sunday morning hit, Lindsey and I could hardly wait to get our hands on the furrbutt boys so we left the Rick?s (hubby and son) to do some more dirt bike riding and packing up the cabin. We met Aunt Steffanie and started home for the meet and great ? The Newf?s were wondering what I had done this time!

Now about Teddy....he weighs about 6 pounds, is white in color and we have no idea about his personality yet. But I am sure you will get daily updates along with pictures, so you can get a better idea what Teddy is all about. Teddy has a bad case of worms and fleas, but we are getting them treated.

If you are at all interested in meeting this wonderful little boy and have been approved please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved ? send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home in a couple of weeks.

Connie - Rick- Lindsey - Rick

I am finally getting to write you guys a note about me. My forever family and I are in love with each other. I have been behaving myself - have had only 2 accidents since I was here and one was Wes's fault. He didn't get me out in time. It is very low key around here and nice to lay out in the front yard with the breeze off of the lake. I got brave enough to walk to the end of the dock the other day and Wes had me in the water this a.m. giving me a bath. I swam around a little - it was great fun. I hope to go out in the boat soon. Dr. Deb had some good news for us today. I had to go in and get some shots - I was so good I didn't even whimper. She said my legs looked much better than two weeks ago - if they were going to go bad they would have been worse that fast.

It will be a "rockin" time around here this weekend. All the kids and the 6 grand kids will be up here for me to play with.

K-Li is getting to like me more each day. She even plays with me some. Gotta go now. Have to rest up for all the company.

Sorry to have waited so long in writing to you. I decided to wait until our appointment with our vet this afternoon. She was very encouraging. I only hope the fireworks around the lake won't scare him too much.

I have attached a couple of pictures from 2 weeks ago - right after his first visit to the vet. Will send new ones later. Last vet visit he was 19 lbs - today he is 23 lbs.

WANTED per Teddy: Loving family/individual/couple with or without children and with or without other fur creatures. Want someone who is fun loving, playful and will help teach me the finer points in life. I want someone who will teach me to fetch, sit, heel, stay, and not to steal shoes. I was hoping to find someone that would love me unconditionally, even if I am bad. I promise to give you lots of kisses and hugs when we make up. What more could you ask for??? I know we will make a connection because my foster mom says I have eyes that make your heart melt!

I sleep at the foot of the bed (most of the time, I do like to get up on the bed once in a while for snuggle time, otherwise it is too warm). I let you know when I have to go out during the night by jumping on the side of the bed. But I do go right back to sleep.

I am getting close to being potty trained; yes I will have accidents, but if you help me remember to go outside by giving me cookies, I will keep working VERY hard to go where I am supposed to. Plus I started to bark at the door when no one notices me doing my potty dance.

My hair is starting to grow back, so I need someone to brush me and make sure my toenails are clipped. I am almost done with my terrible tasting medicine. That day cannot come soon enough.

The Mange that I had, pretty much gone, Fleas, GONE, worms, GONE – so why are you not coming for me? You have been looking at me long enough! E-mail placementatragom [dot] org - they will tell foster mom and she will send an e-mail and call you so we can meet and play! Jadee is getting tired of me, she thinks I am a pain, but I think it's because she is OLD and DEAF as can be. But as you can tell, we still snuggle a lot and I know she will miss me when I come to live at your house!

So don’t wait a second longer if you are an approved applicant - send placementatragom [dot] org a note. If you are not approved – send in an application so I can come home!

Teddy here, just wanted to tell you I am growing and getting bigger every day so if you don’t hurry to come and get me, you are going to miss all the fun puppy stuff! Foster Mom is coming so I am sure she has plenty to say, but I just wanted to let you know. I am ready and feeling great!

Teddy is doing wonderful, he feels better and has very little if any itching at all. He will need to continue to take his medicine but he is ready for a family of his own. I have to say he has been sleeping on our bed or on the floor with the Newfs and lets us know when he has to go potty.

Lately I have left the deck door open and he will just go out there if I miss all the signs. However, his little bell has been working. Teddy is now eating a full cup of food in the morning and at night. About 10 minutes after eating he always goes out to do his business.

Teddy still loves shoes, so make sure they are all put away before you come and pick him up. We will keep working on that while he stays with us, but he really needs you to love him and care for him. We are working on walking on a leash and “sit” - they are both coming along very slowly but are starting to happen. As you can see by his new pictures he is still very blonde in color and has the most beautiful steel gray eyes I have ever seen.

Teddy still loves to be held but he will let you know when he wants down. Once he warms up to you it is all about what makes you happy. So if you have a soft spot in your heart for this little boy, as I know we do, please email placementatragom [dot] org to meet him and get him home for the weekend. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home.

Teddy saw his best friend the Vet yesterday and things are going okay. He was put back on his mange medication since it seems to still be active. But that is fine; he is doing great and seems to be pretty happy pestering everyone when he is up to it. He also got his third set of DHPP shots; he was not thrilled with that at all.

Tonight Teddy is going on a date with another RAGOM volunteer. He loves their play dates and Teddy usually comes home so tired he won’t move for the rest of the night and a good part of the morning, so I like their play dates too.

He is doing great at potty training as long as you are aware that he just got up from his nap and he is sitting at the door. If you are not real observant, Teddy will let loose on the floor. So now I have a little bell on his collar and I know when he gets up from his nap and I can come a running!

Other than that Teddy is doing great and gaining weight. He weighed in at 14 pounds yesterday – that is a long way from his mere 8 pounds. It still is not enough so we will keep working on the weight thing, but he really wants to know if you have a place in your heart for him to join your family?

You know what to do – contact placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home.

Teddy continues to do well each day now that his brothers have all left him. His mange is still active so we will bring him back to the vet tomorrow. He has lost some more hair on his face, but this only makes him cuter!

His potty training is going fairly well. He knows that he should go outside and usually will go to the door. He has graduated to going out with the Newfs – he is not so sure about that but he will catch on pretty quickly.

Teddy is still scared of loud noises but seems to be doing better each day. I think he is getting braver and braver as time goes by.

Teddy now sleeps with the Newfs on the floor or in our bed. He does not like his crate real well and does just fine all night, so we don’t bother putting him in one at night. Crates are definitely not his thing.

Are you interested in a very loving little boy? If you are, please email placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home.

You are wondering what happened – Teddy was adoption pending – well, through no fault of his own, the family decided they would rather adopt Chaz. So Chaz our little spit fire is leaving on Friday and I get to keep our little snuggle bug Teddy.

Everyone here was so excited that we got to hold on to him just a little longer and love him just a little bit harder.

Teddy is slowly growing and able to hold his own. He is so independent that sometimes you feel like he does not need you, but it is actually the opposite – he would much rather be sitting next to you and sleeping with his head in your lap to make sure you know he loves you.

Teddy does not warm up very quickly but when he does, watch out, he will be staying with you forever and you will know how important you are to him. Teddy wants a family that will take their time and learn all the precious things about him, and trust me, you will. There is nothing better to learn that you are trustworthy by this little boy.

So, if you missed out the first time and would like to bring him home, you know what to do – contact placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home.

Teddy is doing well. He continues to itch from his flea bites but the fleas are gone, so it will be just a matter of time. All the puppies now know the sound of their breakfast, lunch and dinner being made so they will run into the laundry room and whimper and whine until they're fed.

Not much else to say except they are ready, willing and able to find their forever home. If you are interested in making Teddy part of your family and help him become the Big man he can be, please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home.

Sweet LITTLE Teddy....Teddy was also a sick little thing last night but this morning is already starting to perk up. He is our smallest of the bunch and only weighed in at 8.5 pounds. He is just this little thing that has a heart of gold. He is not demanding, but he does a lot of grunting just to let you know his tummy is not feeling so well. I am sure by lunch time he will start eating his fair share again.

Teddy was de-wormed, micro chipped and received his first set of shots yesterday. Yep, he got it all! He was not happy at all about the micro chip, but we managed to get him through it and he is doing better this morning. Like I said, he weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces - he is the little one that has won over his foster dad’s heart. He always has been a softy for the little guy.

Teddy has been here for 24 hours now and is starting to act like a puppy. Teddy and Mack do the funniest thing when they have to go potty – the get super hyper and start running into the playpen to get let out to go potty on the hay! Yep, it is really cute. Teddy has the whitest and softest coat on him. It is a little wavy but not bad at all.

Teddy is a total cuddle bug. Teddy and the boys will be going to the vet tomorrow to get dewormed and shots. I will also let you know his true weight at that time.
