Our sweet Tegan went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He was so very special to our family, especially our daughter. We were lucky enough to have him in our lives for 11 years, but even that didn't seem long enough. He lived to be over 15 years old, which is longer than any of our other goldens have ever lived.

He knew he had a job to do here on Earth, and he took that job seriously. Finally though his body started shutting down from old age and we helped him over the Rainbow Bridge.

Tegan will be remembered by us for his gentleness, his incredible knack of knowing when someone needed some cuddling, his laid back attitude about life, and his love of Cheeze Whiz at the vet's office.

Thank you, Tegan, for all that you gave to our family. I know you will continue to look over your girl from the Rainbow Bridge. You meant the world to her. We love you, T.

Original Initial Bio:

Tegan is the latest addition to our golden clan. He is a beautiful, dark red golden retriever who will be celebrating his 4th birthday in April. He was surrendered to RAGOM with his brother Murphy due to a divorce situation. He lived the first 6 months of his life indoors, but then got delegated outdoors & has been sleeping in the garage since. He is now living the golden life as a RAGOM dog & is on a search for his forever home.

Tegan gets along with my pack of goldens (2 females & 1 male) just fine. He also loves kids & would do fine in a home with little children. He weighs in at 86 lbs & could stand to lose about 10 of those but for his size he is remarkably mellow & gentle. In fact on his first day here my 5 year old dressed him up as a princess. And what a prince he was to put up with that!! He is very playful & likes to play chase & tug of war with my dogs. I'm not sure how he would do with cats since I don't have any but I can't believe it would be a problem for him.

Thus far Tegan is a very quiet boy with hardly a peep out of him. Other stats are that he has a history of pulling on the leash ( I will try him on a Gentle Leader soon), doesn't counter surf, hasn't had a single accident in the house, no separation anxiety, no inappropriate chewing thus far (although he has a history of chewing & digging while left alone in the garage for too long), stays off the furniture, rides well in the car, is up to date on vaccinations, is trained on an invisible fence, is heartworm negative, has no resource guarding or aggression issues, has been through some obedience training, has excellent recall of his name, but needs to work on sit & stay.

Overall, he is just a great guy & I'm guessing won't be in foster care for long. So if you are an approved family & interested in this wonderful guy, please contact your placement advisor soon!!
