Thor was picked up yesterday by two RAGOM volunteers, overnighted at one volunteer's home and transported via multiple wonderful RAGOM volunteers picking up different legs of his journey, and arrived at his foster home in the Twin Cities area late this afternoon. Thor was surrendered by a family that loved him and wanted him to have an opportunity to have a more active lifestyle. He has only been here a few hours but it only takes a few minutes to fall in love with this young boy. Born May 4, 2004, he is 10 months old, and absolutely beautiful with the gentle, loving Golden Retriever temperament. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and will visit the vet this week for a general checkup. I'll send more updates as we get to know him better (don't know yet about cats, fences and kids), but from what I see so far, some very lucky family is going to be happy to add this sweet boy to their family. A little obedience training and this one might be perfect for therapy dog work.

Lucky boy!! Thor was adopted today by the L family. He now has a wonderful new mom, a work-from-home dad, and two really nice kids (ages 11 and 9) to love him and play with him. And to top it all off, he has a new canine brother, Quincy. I have attached two pictures sent to me by his new family of his first day at his new home. The first picture is of Thor and Quincy sitting pretty as can be with their new gentle leaders after having gone on a walk and meeting the people in the neighborhood. The second picture is of the two of them after four hours of playing with each other. Thor is in heaven :-)
