12/29/07: I would like to introduce you to my new foster Tillie.
Tillie is a sweet natured senior who will be turning 11 on 12/30/07. This beautiful girl was turned over to RAGOM due to a change in her family's circumstances. Imagine raising a dog from a puppy only to find yourself having to make a tough decision. You see, Tillie’s owners where transferred to another country and if they took Tillie with them she would have gone through several months of quarantine. They were very concerned that this would be very difficult for Tillie. Tillie is a bit confused by finding herself in a new home, but she is very loving to all she meets, gets along well with other dogs, and pretty much ignores the cats. When Tillie first came to my house a week ago she was very active and looked to be in great shape for a senior. Last night her back legs gave out on her and she had difficulty getting traction on my hardwood floors. After a quiet night of rest we made an early morning visit to the vet. Tillie was quite a trooper, letting the vet check her over without a fuss. She seemed to understand we were trying to help her. Her initial check up of eyes, reflexes, back bone, etc. was good. Blood samples were taken and I won’t get the results until Monday at the earliest. I will post as soon as I find out. Fortunately she is doing much better on her feet today, and I am letting her take it easy.
Check out Tillie’s pictures and tell me that isn’t the prettiest girl you have seen in a long time!
