Our little Miss Sunshine is still with us.  She had a family lined up to meet her, but the family changed their minds, so we hope to meet a new family this week.  Sunshine receivd a clean bill of health at the vet last week, and will just need to continue with normal puppy check ups.  She is the smallest of the pups, weighing in at 10 lbs at 8 weeks of age.  She is very smart, curious and adventurous.  She is outgoing and her tail never stops wagging.  She is doing well with learning that puppies go potty outside and she will sit for a treat.  She loves attention and is so ready for her forever home.

Sunshine (on the left in photo) enjoys some outside playtime with one of her sisters. The pups have been to the vet yet again, and it was discovered that they have lice to go along with the itchy sarcoptic mites they have. I gave all the pups a sulfur/lime dip because they are still too young to receive any other medications. It has been a couple days and all the pups are much improved, much less itching, and I am hopeful we got rid of the majority of the lice. We will follow up with another treatment (Revolution) on Thursday, and the pups will begin to meet their prospective families in a week or so.

Here is little Miss Sunshine! She was indeed named after my daughter's favorite movie. Her name suits her, as she is always wagging her little tail with a curious look on her face (see new photo). She likes to be where the action is, and will seek us out as soon as we walk into the room - she's very social with us and her littermates as well.

All the pups, along with Mom, will be heading to the vet on Thursday. They will get check ups, a first dose of worming meds, and their second dose of meds for the sarcoptic mites that all the pups unfortunately came with from N.D. They are pretty itchy and scratchy, but we will get them cleared up in the next couple weeks. I will give a full report after Sunshine and her siblings get back from the vet on Thursday....stay tuned.
