8/7/06: Turbo came to us today. It is a beautiful summer day in Iowa and Turbo is so enjoying his freedom. He is a large, blond, un-neutered male who is one year old. We don't have a weight on him yet, however we can see that he is way too skinny! We will be working on fatting him up so he is healthy. He is now eating Nutro lamb and rice which is an extremely healthy food for large dogs. His past is sketchy and he came to us with very little information from the surrendering family. He will be getting all of his shots and vet check tomorrow. The surrendering family did not provide any vet records or shot updates. Poor boy! He will have to have all of his shots again to make sure that he stays healthy.
The information given to us is that Turbo has spent the last 7 months of his 12 months in a crate. As you can imagine, Turbo is reluctant to go in his crate. He drives beautifully in the car but would rather sit in the front next to me cuddling. I had to put the Love in the crate. He loves people and especially other dogs. He does not know any commands but has been working on sit this afternoon. He is a quick learner and is getting it. He loves the squeaky ball and brings it back to us and will drop it with some coaxing. I will write again tomorrow after the vet appointment.
