Ali will now be known as simply “Turk” as he went home with his forever family today. Turk will be living his Golden Life surrounded by love, stuffed animals, balls, and lakes. His adoptive family lives on a lake and they have a lake home.

We are so happy for Turk and for his adopters, who were instantly smitten by this beautiful and charming entertainer, just as we were. We are sad to see him go, but excited to know he’ll be loved beyond measure.

Ali comes to us from Turkey where he was found as a stray running with a pack of dogs. After a long journey from Istanbul to Chicago to Woodbury, he walked into our yard wagging his tail and hugging us like he had known us forever. He seems totally unscathed from his travels and we are in amazement of his low-key attitude and kind demeanor.

Ali has the classic and super cute Golden Retriever behavior of constantly having a toy in his mouth. He’s a pure joy to have around. He is easy around other dogs and humans of any age. He enjoys furniture, car rides, stuffed animals and working for treats, which he takes ever so delicately.

His areas of improvement include counter surfing, walking on tables, and pulling on the leash. With some direction and training he’ll be in the running for the best dog ever. We can’t wait to see what becomes of him.
