Twinkle turned 6 years old on Wednesday and I can think of no better gift than her very own forever family. She now has a mom, a dad, a 2-legged brother and a 4-legged brother. I have no doubt that her new family will love her.

December was an eventful month for Twinkle. She got to go to a couple of meet and greet events and had a wonderful time. She met a lot of other dogs and scores of people. She was very good with everyone she met and loved being the center of attention.
Talk about dog heaven! She found the center of the circle and made herself at home for tummy rubs and ear scratches.
Twinkle had her spay surgery on the 13th and recovered very quickly. She was ready to play within a couple of days, but we had to make sure she healed properly. Now that she is cleared, she wasted no time in going back to wrestling with her foster brother and romping in the new snow. She is now available for adoption.
We have continued obedience training, and Twinkle is picking things up very quickly. She has "sit" and "come" down pat, and we are moving onto more challenging things like "leave it" and "stay." She is VERY food motivated, so training is a breeze.
With more activity in her life, she has also slimmed down a bit and is losing her "mommy tummy.” You can actually see her waist now. Dare I say she is becoming svelte?
Twinkle recently discovered the joy of snuggling and loves to join her foster brother on the couch to watch football or hockey games. She is not a big fan of the games, but she loves to get cozy knowing that ear scratches are coming.
If you have another dog, a fenced-in yard, kids 10 or older, and are committed to continuing obedience training, then you might be the perfect present for Twinkle's 6th birthday.

Twinkle, Twinkle, little star…
Twinkle is an absolute joy! She is very playful, happy, and loves to carry her toys around. Foster has to make sure toys don’t wind up outside. She loves to counter-surf, and clean clothes on top of the dryer are fair game.
She is not destructive, but she makes a victory lap with her head held high and her prized possession in her mouth. However, she will readily give up items she should not have.
If she’s particularly happy, Twinkle will stick her lower teeth out in a happy, goofy grin. She tap dances when she gets excited, with her tail wagging a million miles per hour. Her favorite things in the whole, wide world are tummy rubs and making snow angels.
It took her a few days to realize how comfy dog beds are, although a treadmill can be cozy as well. She loves to give a little “woof” at her reflection in the mirror or the fireplace glass. She rarely barks but makes happy grunts when she gets her ears scratched.
We had a play date a couple of weeks ago, and she met a couple of male puppies with no issues. She played appropriately and did a really good job of putting them in their place if they got too out of hand. She has lots of experience with exuberant puppies and knows how to handle herself.
She plays very nicely with her foster brother and looks to him for guidance. It’s obvious that she is comfortable around other dogs and does not guard food or toys. However, if I’m petting my resident dog, she wants to be in on the action.
Because Twinkle came to RAGOM from an auction, we know very little about her previous life or her living conditions. She was certainly well fed, so we are working on slimming her down a little. We are working on very basic commands as she didn’t even know what “sit” meant.
It took us a few days to get her on a potty schedule, and there have been no accidents since then. She pulls quite a bit on walks, so we are using an easy walk harness. She is getting better with every walk we take, though. Her recall isn’t great, so she will require a fenced-in yard for now.
Unlike most former breeder dogs, Twinkle is in no way withdrawn or shy and readily goes up to strangers for attention. While she does have an outgoing personality, Twinkle will need to have another dog in her forever home.
I think she would get along with just about any dog and I think she would be great with kids 10 and older. She would probably be fine with cats, but has not been tested yet. She certainly loves her foster brother.
If you are looking for a fun, goofy, happy girl, then Twinkle would love to meet you. Her spay surgery is scheduled for December 13th, and she will be ready for adoption once she has healed completely. Her forever family will need to be committed to continuing obedience training to help her turn into a shining star.
