Lil' Tyson was ready for the big game with his "wide retriever" tshirt! He gave FM the "what are you doing to me look!?!?", when I put on his game day attire. Over the last couple of week, he has enjoyed playing with his new buddy, Jack. They run and play outside as much as possible. He has become the instigator of play in the house with Jack as well.
He continues to hang out and wonders what we are eating. He loves popcorn! He hasn't figured out how to catch popcorn in the air like the big boys. The boys each begged for a tasty bite of ice cream and he hung out looking for any leftovers. He does not normally beg for food, but is realizing their are some very tasty things that he gets as treats from time to time.We continue to encourage him to get loving and attention. At first he looks like "don't make me...then, he relaxes into...ah, this isn't so bad, keep rubbing, here get that spot, too!"Our neighbor came over to play with the dogs. He threw lots of snowballs for the boys to chase after. Lil'Tyson hung out and was not afraid when he threw snowballs! He didn't chase the snowballs yet, but at least he didn't run the other direction like the first time I threw a tennis ball in November. He makes progress every day.Lil'Tyson still reacts to any beeping noise like the oven, microwave, humidifier, etc - I am guessing some sort of barking device was used on him.

After last weekend's tiff over a stuffed animal with Rocky, neither one wanted to claim the goose. Tyson has loosened up and now plays chase and tag with Rocky outside, again. Tonight they were wild when running on the pool cover, it was very bouncy now that it isn't frozen to the ice. It surprises me that he likes it, since he can be so scared of little noises inside. The trampoline cover made a loud airy noise as they bounced around chasing each other. Such a silly boy!He has become very lovey this week, seeking attention more often, looking for pets.It is raining tonight and Tyson is not a fan of being dried off with a towel when he comes in. We haven't bathed him, since in foster care because he was groomed before he arrived. We will have to try this soon and hope he can handle all the attention a bath brings. We are hoping Santa brings Tyson his very own loving family for Christmas - is this you???

Time to take a nap and snuggle on the couch with FM and Tyson
I have waffled a few times, if he needs a family with another dog or not. He had a spat with Rocky over a stuffed animal outside, which I had to break up as neither was backing down when I yelled at them. When he is the only dog in the house, he follows us around. When the other dogs are needy for attention – Tyson hangs out in his kennel. He prefers his kennel and many times lies in their when we are home or will want to sleep in there vs our bedroom.
He does pace around from room to room or hangs out in his kennel, but does not have excessive energy. We have given him bully sticks and rawhides this week to give him something to do for awhile. He was unsure what they were at first, but Tyson figured it out pretty quick. He has done a lot of snuggling this week with us home all day. He crawls up on the coach and sits on our laps. He leans in for long pets and scratches when he can.
Another progress step this week, Tyson has learned to go downstairs! At home, he would have nothing to do with it. At the cabin, we can come in from outside and go UP the stairs. Once Tyson figured out the stairs, he now heads downstairs for a little scouting.
Tyson enjoying his nylabone poolside Annie will be on the deck and he will be on the ground chasing her back and forth. He has learned not to walk on her, as to not get in trouble with her. Tyson comes to us for occasional attention and wags his tail, but spends time in the kennel by himself. We left the kennel doors open over the weekend and he goes to lay down in his for a few minutes, then Annie's for a few minutes and then back to his kennel. Reminds me of a children's book about goldie locks and what bed she was trying to find... Tyson was known as an escape artist before coming into RASGOM, but we have not lost him yet. We use a harness when he goes out in public like for walks, to the vet or to adoption events. He likes to be outside, so bringing him back in the house from these public outings can be difficult. I lead him into the garage and he stubbornly plants his feet to say, I don't want to go inside. After a few minutes, I can convince him a treat would be tasty enough reason to go inside. Tyson will be at the Shakopee meet and greet on Saturday.
