Profile

Tyson was surrendered to RAGOM due to changes in his family. He is the quintessential Golden Retriever who is happy, smart, and easy-going. While he adores humans, children in Tyson's forever home should be over 10 years of age because of his tendency to jump. He can live with other pets and likes to play with them (both dogs and cats), but will respectfully leave them alone when directed. A physical fence is optional as long as a solid plan is in place to keep Tyson safe.

This is Tyson here to tell you about my new life and I am really liking it. Long story short, I came into RAGOM because of a divorce. I am really liking it here in my foster home. For only being 1 1/2, I am really a good boy. I will be 2 in December.

I don't know if I already knew things from before or if I am just that smart and learn things very quickly. I walk really nicely on a leash or a harness. I know "sit," "shake," "down," "off," "no," and "awk." I also know "sit and wait" before I can have my breakfast or supper. I do not counter-surf, and if something is dropped on the floor, I know "leave it."

Very shortly after I got here, I went to see the good doctor, and she said that I was A-okay and I got a good bill of health. Everyone there just loved me.

I only weigh 54.6 pounds, so I do need to gain some weight. Foster Mom is working on that. Part of that is because of my energy, and I am thinking that part of that is because I am still young. I did hear Foster Mom saying that I still need to be fixed, and after that I should gain some weight, too.

I really did not know I was broken since I am doing so well. Foster Mom said that for a couple of days, I may not feel well, but after that I will be just like new. So, okay... I will go with that.

I love, love, love to play ball and Frisbee. I'm pretty good at bringing both back to you.

I am really a people dog. I follow Foster Mom everywhere she goes. I love to play with the resident dogs, but I also play a lot by myself. My favorite squeaky toy came with me. I love to play with it and squeak it all the time. I like taking the tug rope toy in my mouth and shaking it all around. I will play with balls, drop them so they roll, and then chase them. I love the hard bones and the antlers here that I can chew on.

I love pulling everything out of the toy box. Foster Mom and Foster Dad will put things back in the toy box, and I go and drag things back out. I play for a little while with what I get out and then go and get something else. Isn't that what us puppers are supposed to do?

Because I am such a people person and really like to be around them, I would not require a fence. I am not a runner. I do tend to jump, so children aged 10 and up would be best for me. I am learning to not jump, but I do not have that down pat just yet.

I can live with cats, but I do really want to play with them. The one-year-old kitty here likes to play, so I play with her. Another cat will just jump up on something to get away from me, but the older guy will just hiss at me and I am learning "leave the cat alone" and I am doing well with that.

Like I said earlier, I like to play with the resident dogs, but I would be really good as an only dog, too, as long as someone was home most of the time.

So, if you want all of the love that you can stand, then I am just the boy for you. I would certainly love to meet you.
