Vinny’s owner surrendered him to RAGOM’s care because Vinny has hip dysplasia. He’s had surgery to correct the right hip and seems to be feeling much better. Vinny gets along with other dogs, cats, and children of all ages. He has good recall and is currently either supervised on a lead or inside a fence, which is optional but preferred for this young boy who will be active once he recovers fully from his surgery.

Hi, it's me, Vinny. Guess what! I found my perfect family to live with. They have another dog for me to play with that is 2 years old. I am so excited. My new sister and I get along beautifully. We chase each other in the yard. I like to try to tackle her, but she doesn't seem to mind. And she likes ball, too! She even can throw the ball for both of us when the humans are busy. How cool is that?

I am so excited. Not only do I have a new sister to play with, but my humans are home almost all the time. I will have lots of attention and they also love to throw the ball. Oh, how I love ball and whoever is throwing it.

My new family also likes to go for walks in the neighborhood. I am hoping maybe I can convince them to go down the old dirt road I love to walk on. I still need to work on my leash manners a bit, but I know with their help, I will be amazing.

I love that they have a fenced-in yard to help keep me safe when I am outside playing. I don't need to worry about going too far or accidentally getting into the road.

I am so excited to start my new adventure. This is perfect. Check in with you later.

RAGOM welcomed Vinny 20-080 with open arms in April. He came to us as an owner surrender due to Vinny’s hip dysplasia. Vinny had TPO surgery to correct the hip dysplasia on his right side, which was worse than his left side. He has been on kennel rest and is doing very well. He is healing as expected and seems to be feeling a lot better.

Vinny has an appointment on June 2 to check his healing progress and determine if he will need surgery on his left hip. If he does need surgery, he won’t be able to go home with his forever family for 4 weeks post-surgery, but we figured we could start the search now. He is also scheduled for his neuter surgery on June 25.

Vinny is a typical puppy and has been an awesome pup so far in our care. He is currently 11 months old and very sweet and very, very playful. He loves spending his time playing with the other 11-month-old puppy in our home. They play chase and wrestle and tug of war. They take time to steal each other's toys and play keep away. His favorite game though is ball. He is very much driven by the ball.

He gets along with the other dogs as well and displays proper respect for the pack order in the house. Vinny also seems to get along well with cats and has shown good behavior with them.

Vinny is doing very well with his training. He already knows sit, stay, down, come, and leave it. He walks OK on a leash with some mild pulling. We are working on this. His surrendering owner used a Gentle Leader on him and he did fantastic. We have been working on being fantastic without a Gentle Leader and he has made improvements.

He is also potty trained and has had no accidents in the house. He kennels well and will only mildly whine when he would rather be out. He sleeps through the night well in his kennel.
