Greeting to all from Puppy Land!
"Wilma" is an adorable 10 week old Golden puppy with puppy breath to prove it! She came from an uncertain background out of MO and the wonderful RAGOM transport team safely delivered her to me. How lucky am I?? There isn't much to say about her right now other than how cute she is and how much work is involved with having a puppy in the house. (actually I have two here, I have "Fred 11-277" as well). Both puppies came into RAGOM with flea dermatitis which has resolved once the fleas were gone, but they still have some patches of hair missing where they basically scratched it all off. They are very active and playful and have begun learning some manners from our resident dog, Sam, who is a little less than impressed with the high energy of the pups. So, here are some basic facts that should be taken very seriously before wanting to adopt a puppy:
- They are NOT housebroken yet, but do very well in their kennel. We play outside every 2 hrs or so and put them to bed after one last quick potty break between 11-12pm. They are quiet thru the night, until about 4:30am. You must be diligent and patient in this process
- Their teeth are like razors
- They are improving at walking on a leash, but right now they are easily distracted and enjoy taking many breaks
- They will need a forever home committed to obedience training and consistency
- Is financially able and willing to provide veterinary care for the long run, even into their senior years
- Is willing and has the time to exercise them daily, multiple times!
- Will promise to cuddle and love them as unconditionally as they will love you!
