After two months in his foster home, Windsor has been adopted and is now happily living with his fur-ever family! He is adjusting very well and learning a lot about his two sibling cats, Duncan and Fergie.

Windsor completed his x-rays a week ago, and we found out that he has a very mild arthritis. But other than that, he's been doing very well. For now, no surgery is needed since he is not showing any pain at all.
He's been taking fish oil daily to help with any condition that can cause inflammation of the joints. The vet did say that if in the future he shows stiffness or pain, he might need an injection medication.
Because exercise is a very important part of managing his mild arthritis, regular controlled walks is extremely beneficial for keeping his joints mobile and his muscles working well. Windsor walks daily and he loves it—short walks on weekdays (1 – 2 miles) and longer walks on weekends.
He also plays with his foster siblings every day in a fenced-in backyard, which involves lots of running and chasing balls. After walks and playtime, he is very calm and a complete lap dog who just wants to relax by his foster mom.
Windsor has been adjusting to this thing called the Golden life. He is now learning how to politely ask for treats, and recently he decided that he owns the couch and lounging by the fire is his new favorite "hobby." He is a delightful companion and a very sweet dog who loves snuggling.
Windsor is now ready to start a new chapter in his forever home. So if you want a perfect walk partner and a couch buddy, Windsor is the perfect dog for you!

After arriving from Turkey two weeks ago, Windsor is adjusting to his new environment. His first week with his foster family has been very productive and full of learning new things.
His initial vet visit on October 16 went very well. Windsor is heartworm negative and up to date on shots. The vet noticed very mild lameness on his left hind leg so he took an x-ray and found that Windsor has mild CCL damage, likely an old injury.
Windsor is scheduled for another x-ray on Tuesday, October 30. A RAGOM surgeon will further evaluate if surgery is necessary. But so far, Windsor is doing very well.
Windsor plays and chases tennis balls in a fenced backyard with his foster brother and sister: Cooper (Beagle) and Waffles (Basset Hound). He also walks with his foster mom daily. During walks, he sometimes get distracted and will pull in any direction where there's a new interesting "smell."
Windsor is house-trained but is a little bit leery of walking outside by himself, so he needs to be guided out and will need supervision as he does his business. It almost seems like he is afraid to be by himself outdoors.
Right now, Windsor is allowed to roam freely in the house while his foster parents are at work, but a kind neighbor lets him and the resident dogs out twice a day. At night, he sleeps on his own bed or the couch in the living room.
Windsor loves to hoard plush toys, but his favorite thing to do is play and chew on his special blanket. He will sometimes try to chew on slippers but will listen promptly to his foster parents when told "No." He is a very good dog who knows when to stop.
Windsor is a pro when it comes to car rides. He will usually just look outside for few minutes and then eventually will relax.
Windsor gets along with the resident dogs but will be satisfied to be an only dog also. He is friendly to everyone he meets, including kids under 10 years old. He is a very sweet dog who likes belly rubs, head massages, and just laying on his foster dad's lap. No anxieties or behavioral issues seen.
