3/13/07: Hi everyone... it's me, Winnie the Pooh here in Cedar Rapids, IA. Foster Mom rescued me today from the very, very busy shelter and I am soooo much happier being in a house - I even stopped shaking!!! I am getting along great with Golden foster sis Maren and bro Yosi the Shih Tzu and the four Ragdoll cats. I am two years old and a very mellow little pup. They thought I was three but I am still 2. I like running around the yard and playing with toys...and I am GREAT with kids. I lived with three under the age of 11. I am planning to go to PetCo in Waterloo on Sunday... hope to meet some of you there!!!

Miss Winnie is a rather petite medium colored Golden. She was dropped off at a shelter on Saturday and has been shaking ever since. She was adopted as a purebred puppy and lived with a family with three kids and a cat. The reason for relinquishing was "she wants to run free". Well, don't we all???? So far, she has been a perfect house guest....is housebroken, not destructive, likes toys, dogs, cats, kids etc. She is a nice size - around 65 lbs and seems somewhat slender. She is a medium gold color and has gorgeous feathering on her tail and rear end, a slender face and lovely eyes. She has medical records indicating she is up to date on her shots, etc. She needs to be microchipped and she will be good to go. If you are interested in a smaller Golden who is great in all respects, please give Winnie a call. She is taking appointments!!!

Hi-It's me Winnie, the GReatest dog here in Iowa! I am doing well here with my foster family. I am retrieving, wagging my gorgeous furry tail and doing fine with obedience training with my foster dad on the Gentle Leader. I am waiting to meet my possible new foster mom on Saturday, April 14....we Iowa dogs have to wait sometimes to meet our forever families...sigh...In the meantime, to keep things interesting, foster mom came home for lunch yesterday (she really, really loves me and likes to see me whenever she can ) and while I was out in the back yard with my foster sibs Maren and Yosi, the nice meter reader came to the fence.  I quickly climbed that cyclone fence and perched on top...yeek... how many Goldens can do that????  When foster mom shrieked and rescued me, I decided not to do that again!!!! Foster mom and dad plan to try to video tape me doing that and send it out to all the Ragom fosters. Hey, thanks to all you great sponsors and fosters who are helping us Goldens find the greatest homes ever!!

Ok, we are trying really hard to get a great picture of Winnie and are FAILING!! She is much more beautiful than the pictures we have gotten so far! What a wonderful dog...no whining, barking, growling...perfect first night sleeping on the floor in our bedroom. She is not wagging her tail yet...still wondering what has happened to her, I think, but she takes food and treats very, very gently. She is going to the vet Friday afternoon for a checkup and microchipping and to the groomer that morning. She will look awesome with her fabulous tail and rear feathering! She is such a wonderful dog.
