Profile

Woodford was lovingly surrendered to RAGOM due to a family move. He is very well-behaved and gets along with everyone he has met. Woodford is playful and respectful with other dogs, but he hasn’t been tested with cats. Children in Woodford’s home should be age 5 or older, due to his energy level. A physical fence is optional, as he has good recall. Woodford loves to be active, but he is also content relaxing with his blanket next to him.

Woodford is so lucky to be going to his new forever home with the K family, where he will get lots of love and attention. His new mom, dad and three siblings fell in love with him right away, and having a sister (dog) will mean he always has a companion to play with.

He will be so happy spending his winter running around in the snow in his fenced back yard and enjoying the summers camping with his family.  We are so happy for Woodford and his new family!

Woodford has been with us for about a week now and is just a joy to have. He is such a loving, happy guy. He has had a busy week as he went to the vet and was found to have ear infections in both ears, which we’ve started treating and can tell it’s getting better.

He is on the petite side (50 pounds), but the vet said he was a healthy weight for his frame. We’ve been feeding him a lamb/rice blend food because she thought he may have a tendency for allergies.

Woodford also visited the groomers over the weekend. They were thinking it may have been his first experience since he was a little unsure of what was going on, but they said he was very good. He looks so handsome!

We have had a few visitors since we’ve had Woodford, and he has been so excited to greet anyone that has come over. He just wants to play or be petted. He listens so well. We haven’t tested him with children; however, he did come from a home with a 6- and 8-year-old.

He is the only dog in our house but has played with another dog and did well. He hasn’t been cat tested yet, but the previous owners said he gets along great with both.

Woodford knows the basic commands to sit, shake, lay down, and come. His absolute favorite thing to do is fetch his tennis ball. He always brings it back and when we say “drop” he plops it down and gets ready for the next throw.

He gets the majority of his exercise each day doing this over and over, which is nice because with it getting so cold outside, I haven’t been good about getting him out to walk much!

Woodford has free roam of the house when we are home. At night he sleeps in our mudroom and we put up a baby gate. He does great with this and has never tried to get out (even when I just barely lean the gate up against the door). He did sleep in a crate in his previous home.

An ideal home for Woodford would be one where he is kept active, as he is still young and energetic. He is very obedient, and a permanent fence is optional. He is definitely a gem of a dog and any family would be so lucky to have him.
