Zeek 11-355

Profile

Hey there---Here is Mr. Zeek, all the way from Missouri with his buddy Zelda 11-354.

It is thought that Zelda is Zeek’s mom. The two get along and play so well. They would make a great pair to a family looking for 2 dogs! Zeek is thought to be about 8 months old; he is roughly 30 pounds and up to date on all health issues. He is a short little fella, couldn’t be cuter than a bug’s ear; he kind of reminds me of a Corgi.

He is very playful, loves to hang out with other dogs. Zeek is not easily intimidated by the larger dogs. He will run and play with them just like he is their size. When I see him do this I think of the old saying----If you’re gonna’ play, you have to be able to run with the big dogs! (Or however that saying goes!)

Zeek is a pretty good listener, but I think he would do best with a fenced yard. Since he likes to play I think another dog in the family would be a plus. However, he is a snuggler too. He would do great with kids; I don’t think he has a mean bone in his body. He does like to chew—so care should be taken to put things away; he is still in puppy mode. He is currently left gated in my kitchen area during the day---10 hours. There have been no accidents when they remained gated.

Zeek gets along well with my cat---I should let you know that my cat is not afraid of dogs and can hold his own. Sometimes Zeek likes to chase the cat, Calvin---but Calvin can handle it.

This little guy is sooooo cute and would make a wonderful addition to a loving family; he would fit right in! Say you will come and meet him…you won’t regret it!

Hi everyone! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that came out to see me at the Petco event this weekend! I had no idea I had so many adoring fans out there - although it's really no surprise given how cute I am! I was so exhausted by the time we got home that I curled up with foster dad and took a nice long nap.

Something else really exciting happened to me this weekend - I met my forever family! I'm so excited!! The best part is that I'll have a mom that will be home with me all day long - how much luckier can a little boy get?! I'm going to be so happy there, I can hardly wait to start my new adventures with them!

Your pal,
Zeekers

Hi everyone - it's me, Zeekers! I'm doing so well in foster care and have come so far in just a few days! I love walks, and while I walk pretty well on a flat collar, they tried this crazy thing called a Gentle Leader on me the other day. I flopped like a little fish on the end of the leash, but only for a few minutes. We go for a walk every day and I just love it! I also love to be brushed and am completely potty trained. I'll even let you clean my ears without a struggle!

One of my favorite things to do is let my ball roll down the stairs so I can run down and catch it. Then I start all over again! Although I love to play, I also like to lay in the sun and snuggle with my favorite toy. I've calmed down since first arriving and am settling in really well.

I love kids and would do just fine with them if my forever family has them. Of course I would also like another dog to play with -- big or small, it doesn't matter, as long as they like to play! Bauer and I wrestle all the time so it's really important to me that I have a doggie playmate in my forever home. I follow him wherever he goes and really look up to him. And I'm hoping you have a fence so we can run and chase each other outside. Cooper and I loooooove to play outside! Sometimes our potty breaks take forever because we're having so much fun!

As much as I love my foster family, I know there is a very special forever family out there that's just perfect for me. Bauer told me they're out there, and they'll find me, just as my foster parents found him. I hope I'll be as lucky as he is someday.

And if you've been waiting patiently to meet me in person - here's your chance! I'll be making an appearance at the Apple Valley PetCo event from 1:30-3 on Sunday. I'll be giving away free kisses and can't wait to meet you!

Zeek has moved to his permanent foster home in North Branch, MN, and we are so happy to have him! We want to say a special thank you to his temp foster mom, Karen, for taking such great care of him until a permanent foster could be found. Zeek was so lucky to have you as he started his RAGOM journey. He sends big sloppy kisses to you!

Zeek now lives with 2 goldens who he loves to play and wrestle with. Bauer has the same energy level as Zeek and they're a good match, both inside and out. They love to run and chase each other in the yard -- it's so fun to watch! Cooper loves to play with Zeek outside, but inside has let him know a couple of times that he needed some space. Zeek picked up on his cues right away and has fit in wonderfully.

Zeek is an energetic little boy and is the cutest little mix you've ever seen! Is cuteness a breed?! In Zeek's case, we think so! He looks to be part Golden, Lab, and possibly Springer or Corgi. He has tiny freckles on his face that are absolutely adorable! He is approximately 35 lbs and is the cutest little peanut you've ever seen! As we mentioned, he loves to play with Bauer, who is about 60 lbs bigger than him, so he is definetly not intimidated by large doggies! While he's energetic, he also loves to snuggle with us. When we sit on the floor, he leans into us and closes his eyes as we pet him. Pretty soon he's rolling over on his back for belly rubs, and we're happy to give them!

Zeek is still a young boy so he is looking for a family committed to obedience training. We are currently working on "off" as he likes to jump up to greet us. He is picking up on that pretty fast! And as all young dogs like to do, he has made it his mission to destuff toys! He is crate trained and goes in without an issue. Zeek would love to have a fenced in yard to play in, as he loves to run around and play outside. We believe he would do fine with an invisible fence, as well. He lived with a cat in his previous foster home and seems like he would do great with kids. We plan to test him with some neighborhood kids later this week so will have more info then. Zeek loves to play with other dogs and would love another doggie companion to play with.

Zeek's only been with us for a day, so we are still getting to know him. Please look for another update later this week to see how he's doing!
