Zoe (Amber 07-222)

Profile

4/9/07: Amber is a sweet old-lady stray that has found her way to RAGOM.  Her original estimate was to be six years old, but I am going to get a second opinion when I take Amber in to be vetted. In my recent experience fostering seniors, I would say she is more like 9 or 10 years old. Her weight is about 70 pounds, and is a bit on the thin side (good thing I'm really good at plumping up doggies!). I'm not sure if Amber is spayed or not, but will have all of that information and more after her vet visit.

So far tonight she's been wonderful, and loves to have toys tossed for her to retrieve. No problems with any other dogs, and is extremely cat-friendly. Everyone who has encountered Amber today has been touched by her loving and polite ways, so I would say someone is about to be lucky to be loved by a Senior Golden :)

From Zoe's (fka Amber) forever family...

Thought it was time to update my Zoe's Happy Ending page. Zoe became a part of the family in April of 2007. What a sweet dog. Zoe is so well behaved and trained. You can just tell whoever had her first loved her very much. On the long ride home from Minnesota to Western South Dakota we had stopped at a fast food place to take a break and we offered up a french fry to Zoe and she wouldn't take one! No people food for her, a new concept for me.

Shortly after adopting Zoe another RAGOM dog came into our lives, Barney 07-569. Zoe and Barney get along great and are great buds who love to go to the park and go for car rides. Zoe just wishes she could just win one game of tug-of-war with Barney, he never lets her win, poor girl.

Zoe is a sweetie and we love her very very much. Thank you RAGOM.

Amber attended the Chuck and Don's event this past weekend.  Needless to say, she had a huge fan club.  She thoroughly enjoyed all the attention and did great with all the dogs and people there.  She was very willing to roll over so everyone could scratch her belly.  She continues to be an easy going dog; her only issue is pulling on her leash which can easily be corrected.  She does not have any destructive behaviors, is housebroken and has free roam when we are gone, does not get up on furniture unless invited, sleeps wherever we put her.  She usually ends up in my son's room with our Golden, but is content with the floor.  She went on a long walk this morning with our Golden and has been tuckered out all day.  I put her out on a tie out when she goes outside but don't think she would venture anywhere, as she takes care of business and comes right back in.  She prefers to be by her people.  She has not really played much with my dogs but did a little dance with my Golden one day.  So having another dog in the house is not necessary.  She likes both adults and kids equally.  She is scheduled to be spayed this week and also has someone coming to meet her.  Will keep you posted on how that goes.
