Zuchie 06-452

Profile

10/22/06: Zuchie has arrived in Marion, Iowa. This beautiful, petite Golden mix and 5 of her two-week-old babies have come to live with us. Zuchie is one of the Missouri dogs brought to RAGOM after being rescued from a farm with way too many dogs.

Since they did not get a lot of human contact on the farm, Zuchie is rightly scared and shy. She and her pups are snuggled up in the crate, toasty warm with lots of food, love and new sights and sounds to understand.

We'll be taking it slow with this girl, so she will not be available until at least she has had a chance to wean her pups. Please stay tuned for updates, pictures and stories of Zuchie and her fabulous 5!!

Zuchie is doing very well. She is a wonderfully easy dog to love. She now jumps on the couch to snuggle with us and follows us all over the house. We introduced her to our new foster dog yesterday and she didn't even bat an eye. She's walking like a champ now on lead and loves to go out, even in this cold weather.

We caught her in the act....Zuchie trying to steal presents from under the tree. Okay, we made her pose for these but she was such a trooper. She is a good sport!! Zuchie will be at the Cedar Rapids, Iowa PETCO on Sunday, December 17th. If you are in the area, come to meet her and hear her story.

Here is Zuchie. She is smiling for us! Such a pretty girl. She is soaking up lots of attention from me lately and doesn't seem to mind the kids a bit. Her pups will be moving on to other foster homes in the next couple of weeks for continued socialization. So, I believe Zuchie can be available for just the right family. She must be spayed before leaving my home. But, if you are looking for love and... if you have a fenced in yard, another dog who is well-socialized already, and the patience to continue her learning, she may be just the right fit for you. Give Placement a call and we can talk!!

Zuchie finally was caught with her eyes open...at least on one photo anyway. She is so camera shy. But, thanks to the persistent nature of my daughter, Zuchie was caught lounging in the kitchen and just coming up the stairs. The photo of the pups is the "feeding frenzy". They LOVE puppy food.

Zuchie is doing well. As you can see from the pics, she will venture out often now, sit in the evenings in the kitchen, eat her meal there and escape the commotion when it becomes too much. She likes treats and we give her plenty. I do believe she has gained a few pounds. Her fur is so soft and she has no more pesky fleas. She is not ready for a trip to PetCo, but we will be going to the vet in the next week. Stay tuned for more.

Here are pics of Zuchie's pups. The fabulous five are growing like weeds. They are all sweet, playful and love their toys. They have sharp little teeth and lots of chewing to do. We love them all! They are four weeks old and will be ready to be adopted in four more weeks. Get your name in now!!! These cuddle bugs deserve a warm and loving forever family.

Zuchie is attentive to their every need but does enjoy the reprieve of going outdoors without them. Zuchie had a bath on Sunday and even though she tried to climb from the tub twice, she tolerated it and now smells and looks so nice. She won't let me brush her yet, but that's okay. One thing at at time.....
