Updates

Our sweet Sammy passed away in February of 2020. He was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma early in 2020 and did not have much time after that.

Sammy was the joy that graced every space he entered, and time stopped when he passed, life inched along in slow motion and the only thing that came quickly were the tears from losing the physical presence of our best friend. There is no relationship better than the canine human bond – it surpasses words, for sure!

Sammy lives on in our hearts, minds and guts, and not a day goes by that we don’t think about that super soft, chilled-out, gorgeous boy! Sam, my husband and I were the three amigos and had such a wonderful life together.

He was a big lovable sweetheart - we adored him and his personality. And we worked around his issues with other dogs, always keeping him comfortable, happy and so so so loved! Life was complete with Sammy. He rescued us more than we rescued him, for sure. I can still feel his fur on my cheek :)

Aside from having fun in the backyard, walking and hanging out with us at home surfing every plush surface, Sammy loved traveling up North and spending time at our lake cabin. I swear one of us could simply think the words ‘car ride’ and ‘up north’ and Sammy would be hopping around with excitement, ready to pack his ‘go bag’ full of bones, treats and boots (depending on the weather) and hop in the car.

We could never get him to jump in the water, but he did absolutely everything else fun there is to do at the lake in every season of the year. His favorite was running around the property playing tag and chase with my husband (his BEST friend), then resting while chewing on a nice, big delicious stick! He loved that cool, up north fresh air and activities.

Sammy’s golden life lives on and we know he has met up with our other golden boys, and all three are romping around together unfettered by ailments, free of disease. We can feel them keeping a close eye on us as we continue to rescue their golden friends. Their loving spirits go on in our hearts!

Thank you, sweet Sammy, for loving us, sharing your life with us and making us better humans. We love you and miss you! We will be together again someday…
