Hello to all!

Smiling Sally is doing pretty good! I like to call her Smiling Sally because she likes to smile. It looks like she is going to growl (or something like that) but she is actually smiling! J And it is just so darn cute! And she likes to wiggle her butt a lot. So Smiling Sally wiggle butt is her affectionate nick name in our household J

As I did not put this in Sally’s initial bio, I will now. Sally is about 4 years old. She sometimes looks slightly older because of everything she has been through.

We went to the vet last week and Sally was put on some antibiotics for her skin rash/allergies along with Benadryl for the itching. We are almost done with the antibiotics and she is itching A LOT less now. She weighed in at ONLY 49.6lbs! So we are going to be putting a little weight on. She has one tooth that has a lot of tartar on it, but the vet figures it is from poor nutrition. Now she is getting great nutrition and gets to chew on a bone once in awhile to help her teeth. Tomorrow she is getting spayed and then she will be ready for her forever home.

Sally is just starting to come out of her shell more. She still prefers to be in her kennel when she is feeling overwhelmed, and I still have to help her out the door so she goes potty. She has not had an accident in the house in over a week! What a GOOD girl!! J She loves to come back into the house though. JThe indoor life is the life for her.

She is starting to learn what toys are. She doesn’t understand the concept of it, but I will catch her playing with a ball once in awhile when she thinks no one is watching. J  She even engages some of the other dogs in playing now J

What will Sally need in her forever home?

• A physical fence (since she is a puppy mill dog)
• I would say kids 14 and older.
• People who understand that she still needs more time before she will be a “regular” dog. It may take awhile before she understands what playing fetch is. Sally needs extra loving J
• Another dog to show her the ropes of what being a “regular” dog is like.
