Hello, world. My name is Ethan and I am a 5-week-old Golden Retriever that came into RAGOM with my momma and my brothers and sister from a breeder who decided to retire. First, I want to thank everyone who has been sending me such cool things! My favorite things to do are to eat, play, and poop, so all the extra food, toys, and towels - to name just a few things - have made life easier for foster mom.

My siblings and I are doing very well in foster care. I am the most laid-back of the puppies and enjoy just taking it all in. While everyone else is trying to escape the play pen and jump out of the laundry basket mom likes to carry us around in, I am happy to just go along for the ride. Don't get me wrong - I always make sure to get in on the playing and cuddles too, but I think I am just a go-with-the-flow type of guy.

  • Ethan and his siblings were born on 10/9/13 and will be ready to go to their forever homes the first weekend in December. They will all be spayed/neutered and have their first set of puppy shots.
  • Ethan and his siblings will have been introduced to many different people, cats, and dogs in their foster home. He will need continued socialization and obedience training to be the best dog that he can be.
  • We have started attempting to potty train the puppies, but they still have many accidents at this age and will need continued training in this area in their forever homes. They are not able to hold it all day long between 2-4 months of age and will need someone able to come home and let them out at midday for potty breaks.
  • If there are children in the home, please keep in mind that puppies love to chew, nibble on fingers and toes, and have a lot of energy. If you have small hands that you are worried about being nibbled on, then a puppy may not be for you.
  • These guys and gal may be small now, but they grow quickly into big dogs who need training and a family who can commit to them for a lifetime. They will be your best friend for life, but need to go to families willing to give them a forever home for the next 10+ years.

Ethan and his siblings are almost 7 weeks old. They are growing, playing, and doing fabulously in their foster home. Ethan and his brothers are big pups! I hypothesize that because Erika has a small litter this time, she has big puppies. Mom is about 70 lbs, so I do not anticipate them to be huge Goldens and I think their growth will slow down as they mature.

The puppies are being weaned from their momma and are eating 3 meals of dry kibble with a tablespoon or so of wet food per day. They had a stool sample checked last week and were positive for Giardia, an intestinal parasite. They were treated with a 3-day course of dewormer and once completely weaned, will be treated with an antibiotic/antiparasitic and retested to make sure the parasite is gone.

Ethan is just a sweet, laid-back boy. He loves to get attention from his people and likes to play with his siblings, but if anyone is just hanging out and relaxing, it is usually Ethan. Now don’t get me wrong, he is a typical puppy who likes to chew, explore, and rough house, but out of all of them, he is definitely the quiet, relaxed boy of the bunch.
