Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce you all to the newest sweet girl in the RAGOM family. Jessie is an 8-month-old purebred Golden who is one of the 133 dogs seized from a breeder in Pine River back in July. Jessie spent 6 weeks or so at the Animal Humane Society while the court case was being decided, and she has been at my house for a little over a month. All the dogs were finally signed over to the humane society two weeks ago. Most of the Goldens were adopted out via the humane society, but because some of the dogs required more socialization and care, RAGOM was able to take a number of the dogs into our rescue.

Jessie is a beautiful, petite Golden who is a wonderful dark red in color and weighs just 40 pounds. She is thin, tall and lanky, and loves to run like the wind in my fenced backyard. Jessie is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and on HW/FT preventive. Other than being treated for some pesky intestinal parasites, she is healthy. She is still learning about living in a house, and is a typical, active puppy. Housebreaking is a work in progress, but the accidents are getting fewer, and now that we are getting her digestive system on the right track, things are improving daily. Jessie loves to play and chew. Shoes are a huge favorite, as are towels, rugs, blankets and clothes. Jessie loves other dogs and will need at least one playful dog in her forever home. She especially loved playing with my foster, Jojee 13-179, and plays with Willow and Raven, my adopted RAGOM dogs. Wrestling and play biting are her favorite games!!

Jessie is crated while I am at work, which she in not fond of, but since she is still in the chewing phase, crating keeps her safe while I am not home. She has free roam while I am home and sleeps with the pack in the bedroom at night, often sleeping snuggled up to me for most of the night. She is social with people and has been accompanying me to work, a RAGOM board meeting and visits with friends. She likes car rides and has learned to jump in on her own. She does do best when she is with another dog for companionship and comfort. She walks well on a leash but hasn't figured out that taking a walk is something to enjoy.

Since Jessie came from a commercial breeder and missed out on some important socialization, she requires another medium to large breed, well-socialized dog in her forever home; no children under the age of 10, as young kids and their sudden moves and unexpected noise will frighten her; and a fenced yard as she is still learning her name and learning recall. She will not go potty on a leash yet. Jessie is just learning that there is a whole lot more to the world than the life she experienced in her first 7 months. She is very sweet and smart, and will make a wonderful companion for someone who can see the potential in this beautiful girl.

Hi everyone. It's me, Jessie, writing to you from my forever home!!! Yup, you read that right. I am now adopted and living in Nebraska with my canine sister Bella and my two wonderful moms. And I have a grandmother (human one) that will come to visit with me when my moms are at work. I made the long trip from MN to NE on Sunday and did just fine on the ride, slept a lot, and did my business on-leash when we stopped for potty breaks.

My first night in my new house went great. I slept in my crate with my blanket that foster mom sent with me and my mom slept on the floor next to me so I would not be scared. My moms need to do a little puppy proofing of the house before they can let me sleep outside of my crate at night cause they do not want me to get hurt or get into trouble. They told foster mom that I am being an angel and they love me very much. They both stayed home with me today and one of my moms will work from home tomorrow too so she can make sure I am comfortable in my new house. Bella and I are getting along just fine. We wrestle and nap, and then wrestle and nap. So far, all is good. In a few weeks, we will have a new fence put up in the backyard. Until then, I am on a double leash so I am safe and cannot get away from my new folks.

Foster mom was very sad to see me go. She had to fight back the tears when she kissed me and told me to be a good girl for my new moms. I will miss foster mom and the crew at my foster house, but I am very happy to have my very own forever family now. My Christmas wish came true and Santa brought me just what I asked for.....my very own family!!

Thank you to all the wonderful folks at RAGOM and at the Animal Humane Society for helping me and saving me from the breeding place I was living at. I am so very lucky to have such a wonderful life. Miracles really do happen!!

Love and puppy kisses to you all.

Your friend,
Jessie

Hi, everyone - it's me, Jessie, sending in my own update today. All is good at my foster home and I am really getting the hang of living in a house with humans and other dogs. Foster mom says I have been a very good girl as I have not had an accident in the house for almost 2 weeks now!! She is very happy about that. I've been keeping pretty busy here as we have a new foster dog living with us. Her name is Lexi and she came home with foster mom last Saturday. She is 8 months old, just like me.....she's only 3 days older than me, so we are good buddies. I had to show her how to do the stairs and how to play with toys and stuff. She caught on really fast. We love to wrestle and play bite each other and run around the backyard!!! I've gone to work with foster mom a couple of times and did really good there too. I didn't chew up anything and even went potty on a leash after foster mom took one of the regular dogs out with me and I watched him go potty. Foster mom says I learn quickly too!!! I love to snuggle with foster mom in the bed or on the couch and I get along great with all the dogs!!

I got to dress up for Halloween....I was a dinosaur!! Everyone here wore a costume for a little bit. I think I looked really cute in mine!! I did not get to see any of the kids in their costumes as foster mom just put some treats out on the door step for the kids. She said she was worried all the coming and going would be too much for all of us so this worked good for everyone.

Foster mom says I am ready to find my forever home. I do need to live with another well-socialized dog so I can keep learning about dog stuff. I do like kids, but should only live with kids that are over 10 or so, as I do get frightened over loud noises and sudden moves, and I should have a fenced yard so I can run and play. I'm still learning recall, but do know my name. I come to foster mom about 95% of the time, but sometimes it takes a few calls for me to respond....especially if I am busy playing. Please contact your placement adviser if you are interested in meeting me.
