On January 29th we helped our sweet boy Buddy (13-239) cross the rainbow bridge. He would have turned 15 in March. We adopted him and his sister Daisy (13-240) in September of 2013.

Buddy was truly one of the nicest, snuggliest, most gentle dogs we’ve ever had.

We will miss him dearly but know he is now running free with his sister Daisy. Thank you RAGOM for blessing us with these two wonderful Goldens.

Original Initial Bio:

Buddy has arrived and we have been getting to know this love bug. All I can say is someone is going to be very lucky to adopt him.

Buddy is an 8 year old pure bred golden retriever who was surrendered to RAGOM, along with his sister Daisy 13-240. The great majority of RAGOM's foster families have resident dogs of their own, so when a pair of dogs come in it is very difficult to get them fostered and then adopted together.

Unfortunately Buddy and his sister were separated and they definitely miss each other. It is quite obvious that Buddy came from a loving family as he is a delight to have around. Apparently he and his sister have some storm anxiety but with the mild weather we haven't seen that yet....who knows maybe it'll snow before it rains again....after all this is Minnesota!

Buddy came into our household without a fuss. He met our 5 resident dogs, 2 male & 3 female goldens, and our 2 cats without any issues. He loves loves loves to be with his people and is a definite cuddle bug.

His favorite thing is snuggling on the couch or the bed. He doesn't move a muscle till morning....rather a bed hog I'd say. He is completely housebroken, knows sit & shake, and doesn't need a fenced in yard. He loves his people too much to let them out of his sight for long.

He loves car rides and the water, likes to play ball, but 5 minutes is plenty. He loves to be groomed, but belly rubs are the best in his mind. Buddy has the most beautiful coat (is a dark red) and has some of the longest feathering on his front legs that I've seen in a long time.

He has a vet appointment set up for Friday to get microchipped and brought up to date but I'd be surprised if he isn't healthy as a horse. My guess is he's about 80 pounds and it's working for him. He isn't very food motivated and even though he's been with us for over a week he needs a little coaxing to eat.

If you are interested in this wonderful guy, or better yet adopting both Buddy and his sister, we can make that family reunion a possibility. Buddy will be at Goldzilla on Sunday and is hoping for a belly scratch or 2 while he's there so stop by and say hi!!

I think Buddy ( on the left) likes helping in the kitchen...
