I would like to introduce you to my man, Buster!  I honestly can't say enought good things about him and can't really come up with 1 negative thing.  He is a 2 years old mix with a beautiful beard and is the perfect size at 51 lbs.  Foster grandma said he is "good as gold" after spending a day with him.  :)  So, for the small RAGOM adoption fee you can have this treasure as your very own and be rich with the love you will recieve from him.

Buster came to us a week ago after being being brought into a vetrinary clinic to be euthanized with his fur sibling because "there was no one to care for him".  LUCKILY, he ended up with RAGOM and is on his way to the very loving home he deserves.  He went into the vet last week and was brought up-to-date on his shots and is on medication for another week for hot spots.  They have healed already and the only indication he had them now is the shaved patch of hair on his back side and tail.  Otherwise, he got a clean bill of health from the vet and stole hearts while we were there.

I can say Buster is completely house trained since he has not had a single accident since being at our house.  He knows basic commands of sit, lay down, sort of shake (if you have a treat, but he really can't contain himself because he's too excited!), come and he walks great on a leash.  He does have a little bit of a prey drive while he sees a squirrel where he perks up and would love to chase it, but he won't pull you down the street to get to it.  He did meet my parent's cat and was very interested.  The cat layed under the table and he layed a few feet away watching him.  I think they sniffed each other and I don't think he'd hurt cats.  I don't know if he lived with cats and wanted to play or if he'd give up on searching for cats if you'd have one.  He gets along with other dogs since he did live with one.  He's more submissive and I'd honestly like to see him go to a home with another dog for companionship, but it's not a must if he would see another dog on a regular basis.

One thing I've noticed with Buster is that he is "sensitive".  He's sort of nervous or hesitant about new things until he's done it once and then he's fine.  For example he wasn't a big fan of going down our steps the first time, but then after he did it once he was running up and down them.  He also didn't want to go into our bathroom the first day, but once he saw our resident in there and after calling him in and petting him, he's fine now.  He bonded to me really quickly and if he's nervous will come to me. He does not go on furniture, so I think part of him being sensative may be from how he was trained and he could have been yelled at quite a bit.

Overall, Buster is the perfect dog.  He LOVES squeaky toys and is like a a kid carrying it around and playing with it.  He'll play fetch as well with it.  He makes the cutest sounds when he is laying down... they are loud groans/almost growls that make you laugh.  He loves attention and is a great cuddle buddy.  He also "talks" to you when he wants something.  As you can tell by the pictures, he was "talking" to me and telling me to put the camera away.  lol

If you'd like to meet Buster, please let your placement advisor know.  He deserves a great furever home and will be easy to welcome into your home with his mellow personality.

I can't believe a week has gone by and I still have Buster!  He has settled in and opened up a lot this week plus we got some better pictures to show how cute he really is!  First off, I'd like to say again how great of a dog he is.  He has been the best house guest since he still has not had an accident and does not counter surf.  Plus, he gets free roam of the house while we're gone and still does not go on furniture unless invited.  He's excited when people come to visit, but he does not jump up on them.  He wiggles and LOVES the attention he gets though.

Buster may be a mix, but he really has the golden heart and personality, with some Buster flare thrown in.  If you sit on the floor with him he'll cuddle up next to you and would sleep for hours.  He'll follow you around and put his head on your lap if you sit down on the couch.  He likes belly rubs, which is a true golden trait.  Did I mention he plays fetch and will drop the toy or ball for you to throw it again?

He does have a little attitude or maybe he's just a great communicator.  :)  If our resident dog takes a toy he wants into the other room he'll come up to me and "talk" to tell me he wants something.  lol...

Now that I know Buster a little more, here is the type of home he would do best in:

1) Fenced in yard for his safety because if he sees a squirrel I'd hate for him to run in front of a car or something.  His recall is good, but it makes me nervous.

2) Kids over the age of 4 just because he may not like his tail or hair pulled.  He has not been aggressive at all, but if you play with his feet too much or ears he sort of mouths your hand, but it's not mean or aggressive.

3) Another dog is not a must.  He is an attention lover and has learned to push our resident aside if he feels like she's getting more attention than him.  lol...

4) Attention, Pats, Walks and LOVE!!

Please, let your placement advisor know if you would like to meet this golden boy at heart.  He'll be a great companion and easy to get along with.
