Randi (Brandi #13-189) has been a part of our family for two years now. We have learned a lot about her during that time. Randi loves to go for long walks, 2-3 miles a day. She will "remind" us that she's waiting, if we're too slow to get ready in the morning, by finding where we are in the house and energetically licking our hands until we get the message. Randi has her special loveseat where she likes to cuddle up with her stuffed toys. Sometimes she even "talks" to them, as if they are her babies. Randi loves our time at the lake in the summertime where there are all kinds of critters for her to sniff out. She especially likes to look for muskrats, squirrels and chipmunks. Boat rides are a hit with her. Swimming and fetching not so much. This summer one of our grandsons taught her to ride on a paddleboard, which she seemed to enjoy. Recently she has become quite the daddy's girl, gathering up his smelly socks and sitting in his lap. She's starting to show a little gray under her chin. But all in all, she doesn't look or act her age, and she's in excellent shape for a dog that's almost 10 years old. There's not a day that goes by that she doesn't brighten our day with her antics. We're so happy she came into our lives!

Dear RAGOM,
Our beloved Randi, formerly known as Brandi #13-189, died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 31, 2020. We miss her dearly!
Randi adopted us in December 2013 when she was seven years old. We are retired and lived in Fargo, North Dakota, most of her life with us. She enjoyed visits with our grandchildren and trips to our lake cabin in central Minnesota.
Randi was a RAGOM volunteer. She did home visits and attended outreach events. She was a great car traveler, settling in and snoozing most of the time on the road. She visited Washington state, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Idaho, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Arizona with us. Her favorite place, though, was the cabin.
Randi was quite the character! We have put together a picture memory book and are compiling a list of “Randi’s Lovable Quirks.” The list is already eight pages long.
Attached are some picture highlights from her life with us. We are very grateful to RAGOM for the time we were able to spend with her, and to the family who made the difficult decision to surrender her when they could no longer provide a home for her. She was a great fur buddy!
Sadly,
Bonnie and Clark K.

Randi (Brandi #13-189) has been with us almost four months now, and we love her to pieces! A photographer was taking portraits for the church directory, and we asked if we could bring Randi along. You can tell from the picture what a bright, happy girl she is. She puts so many smiles on our faces. Every day we find out a little more about her and what she learned from her previous owners. How wise of them them to surrender her to RAGOM when they could no longer care for her. Many thanks to RAGOM volunteers for all that you do for dogs like Randi. You're amazing!!

It has been a busy week for Brandi with lots of company. The grandchildren were over on Thanksgiving so she was very excited to see them. Still some jumping up, but getting a little better. On Saturday some people were over for Foster Training and even brought a dog for her to hang out with. Then on Monday a couple came to meet her and they think they want to adopt her. Brandi was very excited to meet them but settled down nicely and played ball with them. They are bringing their granddog over later this week to see if they get along. So, Brandi may not be with us for much longer, but the good news she will close by and we may have some opportunities to babysit. We found out yesterday that she loves the snow. Likes to roll her ball around in it until it gets frozen. Then she just takes snow on her nose and throws it over her back. We’ll keep our paws crossed for Brandi’s adoption!

Original initial Bio:
Brandi is a 7 year old purebred golden retriever. She is spayed, micro chipped and up to date on shots. She saw the vet and got a clean bill of health except there might be a dental cleaning in her future. Her owner has had her since she was a puppy and made the difficult decision to have RAGOM find her a new home because he did not have the time to give her the attention she deserves. Brandi is a beautiful red color with wavy fur that is as soft as a puppy. She is playful and loves to fetch tennis balls like all Goldens do. She also likes stuffed toys and does not destroy them just carries them around. She really seems like about half her age. She is good with kids and gets along with Grand dog Riley although she is not good at sharing and will let Riley know with a low growl. Riley doesn’t understand why anyone would want to play with a tennis ball anyway. She loves to be with her people and will follow us from room to room. She is good in the car and enjoys rides, likes to sleep in bed with her people but will also sleep on a dog bed. She is fine with free roam in the house when the people are gone, no accidents, destructiveness or anxiety. She weighs about 60 pounds and seems to be at her ideal weight. It was reported that she loves the water. Brandi seems like the perfect dog right now and is a very easy foster to have around. If you are interested in meeting Brandi let your placement advisor know- she won’t last long!
