I am pleased to introduce Kody (Kodiac)! He is a 5-year-old male who was found as a stray. He has been with us for 2 weeks and we have been trying to get to know Kody a little better. He is a very loving boy who cannot get enough attention and he would be a lap dog all day if allowed! But he can also be a fearful boy. He is afraid of loud noises and sudden movements, and he can become a little overwhelmed by lots of people and activity. He follows our resident Golden and will do what he does but does not always have the courage to do things on his own. So his perfect home will be one with a fence to keep him safe, at least one other well adjusted dog and patience. My 5-year-old grandson was here and Kody just loved him…. he seemed to have no fear of him (unlike some adults). He has been just fine with our cat. When he came to us he had a horrible ear infection and we are working on getting that cleared up. He has been trying to play with our resident Golden and does good until our Golden gets too rough. Kody is just 48 pounds and our resident is about 75 so it is not really a fair fight! If you would like to know more about Kody or think you would like to open your home up to this sweet boy, please contact RAGOM placement and we can talk.

We have gotten to know Kody a little better and have been happily surprised. We recently took him to an Iowa RAGOM picnic and he was a different dog! He wasn't the timid boy we have seen in the house and we discovered he loves to run!! He ran like the WIND in the fenced-in open field! He got along great with all the other dogs but was happiest when he was running! You could almost see the smile on his face and it was heartwarming for sure. We showed him the swimming pool but he appears to have no interest in water. He continues to do well and has graduated to sleeping in the bed with Foster Dad and our resident Golden. He sleeps all night and doesn't get up until FD does. He was kenneled the other day while we were gone and we came home to a dog bed that was a little chewed up. LOL. I guess he has had a taste of freedom and is telling us he doesn't want to be in the kennel. He really doesn't need to be crated but our resident can be kind of naughty, so we make them both go into their kennels. He continues to be a total sweetheart and will be a great addition for some lucky family. I still believe he needs another confident dog in the household because he is still afraid to do some things on his own. And after seeing him running at the picnic, I would love to see him go somewhere with a large yard and physical fence so he can have room to run!! Please contact RAGOM if you are interested in learning more about this special boy.
