Meet Will, a happy, loveable five year old male who is part golden and lab. Will weighs around 73 pounds. He will be neutered soon. Will is very smart. He knows sit, come, listens well and is such a good dog. He is housebroken, but not crate trained. He is reported as good with kids of all ages, cats and dogs and has done some hunting. He’s fit in very easily with my two other dogs. He likes car rides and will be learning how to travel as we make a long trip from South Dakota to Wisconsin.

Will was surrendered to the Humane Society by owners who didn’t have time for him. His care was somewhat neglected as well. He came in with tapeworms and appears to have broken his leg and never had it set properly.

Will had a very rough time at the Humane Society. He suffered the stress of being displaced from his home and brother. He became very sick and was surrendered to RAGOM for medical treatment. Will spent a week in an animal hospital being treated for dehydration, kennel cough and is now completely recovered and up to date on all vaccines. He spent his first night at my home thrilled with his new friend, Bella. Poor guy was so lonely and forlorn.

Since his first day, he’s been eating well and so happy to be in a home. He sleeps with me and it just melts my heart to hear his tail go thump, thump, thump as I pet him. He leans into me, closes his eyes, relaxes and he knows he is safe. His second night, he was rolling on the rug with a stuffed animal and I was so happy to see how easily he has adjusted and is now on his way to a much better life.

Will may need another dog for security and because he was raised with another dog. He is a Velcro dog and wants lots of attention. He will push the other dogs out of the way to get petted. He plays well with Bella running around the backyard. He walks well on a leash and comes when called in from the backyard.

Contact Placement if you’re interested in Will. He’s a real sweetheart who is yearning to be loved and have a home where someone treasures him. He’s a wonderful dog.

Updates

Will has been busy since his last update. He’s traveled to the Wisconsin woods and enjoyed a visit to the lake cabin where he swam and took walks in the woods. Upon his return home, he was neutered and is now up to date on all vaccines including Lyme. He has made a good recovery thanks to RAGOM medical care and his health is excellent. Now all he needs is his forever home.

Will is a happy go lucky dog. He will be a great dog for a family or person who wants to have a very loving and loveable dog. He’s eager to please and listens to whatever I say even if I’m talking to one of the other dogs. He is the first to obey. He very much wants to please his owner. He is playful with my four year old Golden but more interested in people than dogs. He gets along well with the other dogs and is a great friend to Gypsy, the other foster dog.

Wonderful Will has one bad habit. He likes toilet paper. Sometimes. Not often. He just wanted me to know that he isn’t perfect. Almost perfect.

This dog is a gem. Talk to your placement advisor if you want a lover for a dog. He’s right beside me now under the table. If I pet him, he will lean into me, slide down, roll over and let me rub his belly while he has a funny grin on his face. If I lie on the floor with him, he’s snuggled beside me. This is one very sweet dog who wants his own home and people to love.
