Tucker loved meeting all those new people at the RAGOM event in Shakopee. Thanks to all who came out to meet him! Luckily for him, he has now found a new home with a wonderful family. I asked him not to tell his foster brother dog where he is going because I am afraid he'll want to move out, too. Good luck, Tucker! We will miss you!!

Tucker has had a busy week. He went back to the vet for a follow-up on his ear infection and his ears are fine now. He went on a long walk with lots of new people and he did very well with all of them. He also behaved very nicely when visitors came to the house and so far has gotten along with all dogs that came visiting, too. Tucker is a very friendly dog who likes to approach people. He definitely is not shy. He did get in trouble for stealing a bagel off the table, but since he was caught in the act, he might have gotten the message - one can always hope!
After having spent a few weeks with him I would say that
- Tucker loves to play with another dog, but loves to play with his human even more. He constantly brings balls or tug toys and throws them into my lap. Very hard to resist!
- Tucker needs a secured yard to run around in (preferably with another younger dog) or somebody who will run or bike with him. His exercise need is high.
- Tucker should NOT be left alone for very long periods of time. He is still very much a puppy and will get into all sorts of trouble if left alone unsupervised (even when supervised, he manages quite a bit of mischief). He is great in the kennel, but due to his playfulness and energy level, he should not be kenneled up for a whole work day.
- Tucker will need somebody who is willing to work on basic obedience skills with him, most importantly on recall.
- Tucker loves water - his previous owners mentioned that he can jump 17 ft off the dock to retrieve his toy.
- Tucker loves snuggling.

Tucker, as we keep calling him, continues to do well with the transition into foster care. He loves running around the yard with his foster brother dog. Once they have tired each other out, they line up to have their paws cleaned in the bathtub. Tucker has figured that out very quickly. On reentering the house, he now goes straight to the bathroom and hops into the tub. Still no issues with guarding or any kind of aggression. He sometimes barks at people or other dogs on our walks - he is just soo excited to see everybody! He continues to improve with his leash walking, and has started to understand the point of polite greeting versus knocking people off their feet as a welcome. All in all, the secret to a happy and quiet Tucker is exercise and exercise again. That is why Tucker should really have a secured yard to run around in, another dog to play with, or somebody who is willing to exercise him a lot by jogging, biking or playing fetch with him. He will also need somebody who is willing to continue to work on recall and other basic commands. He really is a wonderful dog with lots of potential!
