Rainy has been at her forever home for 4 months. She has adjusted well. Her furry sister, Emma, is a yorkiepoo and Rainy wants to follow her and likes to go outside when Emma wants to go too. The surgery on her mouth and jaw has healed well. She eats well, but only likes to play a little bit with her toys now. Rainy is a true velcro dog! Her family likes to say that she gives "Rainy snuggies" when she buries her head between your legs and wants to be petted! Rainy is planning to attend the RAGOM Goldzilla event this weekend.

Miss Rainy has headed south - to West Central Minnesota - just in time for our late arriving spring! In the five days she has been here, she has completely won our hearts. Rainy is a great laid-back companion. She met our resident dog, Harley, with a few whines and a bark or two, but they have settled in well together. That's Rainy on the right in the picture. Rainy is very happy to be a "second banana" to another adult or senior dog. There's not a dominant bone in her body. We think that she would also do well as an "only dog" provided you have the time to give her the attention she thinks she deserves. She's definitely a Velcro dog who wants to be wherever the action is in the house.

We're amazed at how well she has adjusted to her surgery. She does really well with her soft food and takes her pills inside a piece of soft cheese. She'll always be a bit of "drooler" with the missing lower front teeth, but she does a very thorough job of cleaning up after herself. We've been counting down the days for Rainy until her food and toy restrictions will end. May 20th is the magic day. We know that she LOVES to play with her toys and will finally be able to do that again!

Rainy is ready for her for her furever home. Young children (under 10 years) and very active young dogs might be a bit much for her, but she'll be a great companion for a single adult, an adult couple, or a family with older kids. She does not need a fence and walks well on an Easy Walk Harness. She would be fine with another (mature) dog or would be fine as your only pup. Let your placement advisor know if you'd like to meet this great girl.

Finally, Rainy wants us to send big thank you's to her her first Foster Mom, Bobbi Jo; her temp Foster Mom, Jean, who helped her through the surgery; and her great sponsor, Ruth, who helped to make the surgery possible.

Rainy is doing great after her surgery (as you can see in the picture), she has been staying at temp foster Jean's and I cannot thank her enough for keeping her and getting her thru her surgery, you Rock!! Rainy thinks so too...

Rainy has some restrictions that she will need to follow by anyone who is interested in her. No toys of any kind for 6 weeks (4 to go), not hard or soft toys. Only soft food for 6 weeks, after that she can go back to hard food and playing again....those are not tough restrictions to follow for the human, but she loves to play with toys so she may miss it a little. She is ready for her furever home, so if you are interested in her you can ask about her. I wanted to get this picture of her out so you can all see how wonderful she looks and is doing...

I thought I would give a little more info on this sweet girl. She is 6 years old and her family says she does well with kids, cats, dogs. I did have her to the vet and she had 2 huge 8 month old huskies barking at her and she did not even react at all. She is a very sweet, mellow, gentle dog. As easy as they come. And wants nothing more than to be by her people (typical Golden).

She has never been on a leash before so she does pull some but not bad. She is completely house broken and whines when she needs to go out. She sleeps all night.

As you can see in the picture, she does love to play with toys and some how manages to do so very well with her tumor in her mouth. She manages to eat dry food very well also, not sure how she does it. I just cannot wait for her to get the help she needs to get rid of this, she will feel so much better! We will keep you informed as to what happens in the next few days.
