Dutchess 13-078

Dutchess is a 1 year old Golden/mix about 55 # surrendered to RAGOM from Service Dogs of America due to severe hip dysplasia. Dutchess is fostered in Olivia, MN while she is being evaluated. RAGOM will be evaluating what is best for the dog before adoption. Currently Dutchess is taking Glucosamine and MSM for this condition, once a day with food, that is purchased over counter.

Dutchess came with another dog on her journey named Ginger who also has the same problem and is with another foster. I am attaching pictures of both for you to see these beautiful girls while they were in Olivia. Dutchess has the green collar and Ginger the blue collar.

Dutchess knows hand and verbal commands for sit, come, down, heel, and few others. She walks very well next to you on left side with heel command. When Dutchess is adopted, these commands will go with her to continue if you wish.

Dutchess gets along with other dogs, cats, and loves attention. Dutchess rides well in the car and will lay down. She will not need a fenced yard once she has been accustomed to new owner with commands. She does go to safe area if hears unaccustomed loud noises or unsure what is expected of her. Dutchess is trained to kennel or mat for her safe area at this time in Olivia. Dutchess will pull when excited if on leash without gentle leader.

Once her microchip arrives, she will go to the vet for a wellness checkup and will know more after that appointment.  So keep watching for more on Dutchess progress of if you want to help Dutchess RAGOM will accept donatiosn for her medical expenses.

Hi all,

Things have been moving real fast for Dutchess. Dutchess had her wellness exam and microchip this last week. She will see Dr. Razz on Monday for her leg and possible surgery. Dutchess will meet her potential adopter on Sunday, so fingers are crossed everything works out for her.Oh yea the best part after being put on Rimadyl she became a dog that felt really good and have pictures to show it below. She loves the snow and rolls in it. It was windy and she was running around chasing blowing leaves in the snow. Finally tired out she laid in the snow for the final picture before going inside.Maybe the next best news will be she has found her forever home, so keep watching.
